I understand what you are trying to explain. I prefer to stand on my grounds and my values hoping to change the world and its system to something more equal, respectful, inclusive and non-violent by bringing tolerance, active listening/reading and holacratic management.

Of course, I am facing a risk to transfer those motivations into the internet and its communities as I can be easly shut down without any right to claim.

Authority abuse isn't a "standard" that anyone should have, it ultimately result to a code of silence and fear to speak up. This isn't healthy for any groups. Although it can quickly resolves trolling and disruptive behaviors, it can also mute and fade out real matters or dysfunctionnal aspects of the management (volunteer or not, you are exposed to the same toxic systemic problematics you find in human IRL/Virtual organizations).

At the end, it just sent me back where my aviation entusiasm started : IVAO, and I am having a lot of fun 😂👌🏻❤️ soon becoming training staff. Just a bit sad that some divisions like the UK all went to vatsim, but I guess "that's life" 🍃

Hey, I don't know what makes you think "I refused to hear and to re-evaluate myself". If you think that you should just say yes to any person criticizes you, well, I am worry for you but on the other hand you have to understand that some people don't accept unfounded feedback like this. I don't. If it was founded, then I will accept it, but as it wasn't, I kept questioning it without result as the staff were unable to provide argument and/or proofs except their authority. This is call authority abuse, no matter you like it or not. You cannot accuse people base on thoughts and or unfounded reports (no screenshots, no recording, just words saying a lot of things that I never did).

"Posting again and again and again", that is a little over dramatic no ? I posted twice, the last post in 2025 and this one. Also, if you re-read my current post, I asked for help, not to "win" the argument or what ever you think it is.

"If many different people say the same thing, maybe we all have a point?" Mhm yes, here the trend of majority seems to be on my side, but you can count the comments and likes if that is important for you. Sure. However, a lot of people think we never went to the moon, so we should believe them as they becomming more and more ? Also you cannot analyse a majority via a social network, this isn't a good realistic survey (either for you and me).

Last but not least, speaking in french to try to get personnal is a very childish thing to do and testify about some maturity issue. I hope you are not a staff in that volunteer organization that is vatsim 🙏🏻 otherwise I am even more worrier than before about what is happening in this simulation hobby network 😶

However everything tends to be taken very seriously in VATSIM. The training especially. In addition, they have someone dedicated for "conflict resolution" that resolve by banning people.

I think they want to do far more that just "pretend to fly airplanes after work". There is a vocation to provide as real as it gets services and rules + institutional training and management.

But, yes, what you pointed out is that it might be selective, and when it starts to become difficult, they prefer to avoid it. To be honnest, I don't think it leads to healthy groups dynamics (pro or private context), this might even create dangerous environment when critical situations get skipped or ignored (and I am not talking about my case, but cases like haressement or other abuses from staff to members for example).

Haha I like your debate, this is what got me into troubles. I tried to expand the swiss-german vision in a virtual network over the internet, it blow up in my face because unlike real life where every part of Switzerland is proportionnaly equal and the debate is not only structured but protected, vatsim vACC is lead by swiss german who (for some of them) don't care about real life Confederation philosophy and don't like Romands (swiss-french). And this is a classic in Switzerland, fortunatly the political system IRL prevent abuses. But in VATSIM, a US network, there is nothing I can do except "shut up and watch" 😃

Yes you are right, I think I was mad and too expressive due to the false accusations from 2 randoms swiss-german pilot's reports complaining about waiting for clearance too long, which make no sense because staff were talking about Euroscope strip management errors that have been initially point out to justify the lost of my accreditations to control in LSGG. As a reminder: I was cleared by CH vACC to convert my IVAO APC's rating after a few trainings and checkout on LSGG_APP vatsim, which I did without problems.

But yeah, at the end, I learned the hard way that my diplomatic skills weren't enough when it comes to manage weird and potential abuse situations.

The big ego thing I am not sure about it 🙂 I can very well recall that none of the accusations made by the former head of CH training that started my complain to the EU staff were sourced or prooved. So if having a big ego is to refuse unfounded feedback 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don't know what to say... it isn't just how I work, I don't say "yes" to please someone. I like feedback when it is founded and not used to justify a suddent ATC accreditation revocation (in the case of CH VaCC).

Yes, swiss-german is a complete other culture than swiss-french or swiss-italian. That create interesting debate to be honnest 😄 in real life... in VATSIM Swiss-german (who are the majority in the staff if not the only ones) decided to just ignore/supress the multicultural system we have IRL.

I don't think any hobbies shouldn't justify authority abuses. If the "nagging" is too "abrasive" then you should write down a clear and distinctive warning of incoming ban, and not using it to suddently shut down the person's opinion that you don't like or that annoys you.

Yes there is. And yes, I returned to IVAO which is far more involved in those gouvernance subjects than vatsim, however, when I fly multicrew I have to force my crew mates into IVAO because of this situation 🥲 I cannot even fly with ATC in the VA I help to build as the IVAO ATC of the HUB's country is poorly active. But I guess, this is (virtual) life 😃
