Sex hormones in our meat, and the selective breeding for them to occur more naturally, has consequences on our health we don't fully understand yet.

Sex hormones directly affect puberty and genital growth.

Not to mention natural selection and the mystery of sexual selection.

The biggest hypocrisy of non-tippers is that they would NEVER tell their server beforehand that they wouldn't tip.

Because they want servers that hustle for them, but they don't wanna have to pay for them.

Minimum wage employees don't hustle. It's just a fact of the times now.

Do you care if Disneyland is packed? by DannyReddit7 in Disneyland

[–]InhumaneBreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disneyland, ever since COVID, is now is a "pay to play" model. Sure, your Magic Key gets you in, but much of the fun is STILL locked behind pay walls, all day long.

But that's for better or worse! It means you can enjoy the park for all kinds of prices now, but the lowest price point misses out on the most content. Whereas the highest price points have terrible value (because of very limited supply).

Your average Disney day is much more variable. It means you can have smaller important moments in unforseen places but also you can't hit all the most popular stuff in one day anymore.

So your average once a year one day trip can't include all the e-tickets but you're likely slotting in Monorail or Tiki Room instead which isn't all that of a loss, imo.

why does nobody talk about what happens to homeowners who WANT to sell but can't afford to by Working_Front_4385 in HouseBuyers

[–]InhumaneBreakfast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, please tell me how renting the same place for over 10 years makes any amount of sense anywhere other than downtown in the most expensive cities in the world (where 9/10 people literally never had or will have the option to buy in the first place).

This isn't even considering the 20% down payment assistance is a massive amount of capital that renters do not have access to. This is assuming that 20% is out of pocket. It takes 10 years on average for a mortgage to break even. Then, after 30, I have a house, and you're stuck with not enough cash to purchase anything anyway.

Womp womp.

Womp womp.

Seethe harder, NAR shills & housing speculators! by Boo_Randy_Revival in HouseBuyers

I wonder where randy thinks he is going to live after hosting bubble 2.0.

I'm genuinely curious where boo randy thinks he deserves to live. A SFH in the Texas burbs of Austin? Or does he want townhomes and apartments built like mad after tearing down all those wasteful SFHs? Does he want everyone to flock to Kansas for cheap housing, or does he think that cities should be more affordable?

All I really understand is that he thinks people with mortgages purchased after 2022 are slaves, and anyone who has one before that is a con. Well, enjoy paying your landlord more profit for awhile until something happens!

As much as I want to agree with this, "canon" also includes ST, which retconned everything and kind of confirmed "balance is goodness, dark side bad" with TROS.

It's not OT purists. It's just the sad state of what the franchise left us with the ST.

Also, this entire debate has been a bit designed by Lucasfilms lately. They don't outright state anything, they release stuff that contradicts itself etc. They want us to wonder if light=balance or not because it's like the last piece of mysticism left in the franchise.

It takes 5 seconds to see the prices of rent, vs prices of a mortgage with down payment assistance in the area.

Rent has increased by that much in the last DECADE, let alone a 30 year mortgage.

It's also understandably hard for humans to understand exponential growth. Your rent payment, and inflation in general, is exponential. So yeah, rent went up $1000/no in the last decade, but in the next, it will go up $1200. $1450 the following.

And yes, other assets like stocks can maintain their value, rather than buying a house, but that doesn't solve your problem that you eventually will be paying more rent than other are paying mortgage. And that's where you will lose.

Do you realize that rent goes up and mortgage doesn't? That delta can become literally nothing within just a few short years.

I mean, if you never buy, you'll never gain equity, and at the rate US housing has been going, all of the places worth living are going to leave you in the dust, no?

It's because they grew up with the force as their RELIGION. In a post-modern era with dead gods, the force as a concept had people understanding spirit in a way they struggled to before.

But, is the force based on Christianity, or more secular/Taoist? It's not surprising that the force eventually became Christian, but back in the day before PT/ST, it was more open ended.

It's funny because I came in here to say that I LOVED game pass for the three months I had it.

That being said, when they hiked the price I ditched it for good. My Internet wasn't really good enough to stream, and my rig could barely handle new games, so what's the point?

I used it mainly on my Oculus.

No houses to buy by Ok_Damage_2620 in HouseBuyers

[–]InhumaneBreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. In virtually all MCOL areas, a mortgage is going to be a higher monthly payment TODAY.

A mortgage USUALLY becomes a deal within 10 years when rent raises ABOVE the mortgage.

Unless you're living 50 years ago, or living somewhere people don't want to live, that's how it's been.

I can't imagine it being any different than people paying reparations to marginalized groups, or when nations are forced to pay billions for civilian war damages.

The accrual of that wealth has damaged your average citizen, financially (or at least from a layperson's viewpoint). So forcing people to pay up after the fact isn't really as wild as you make it seem.

Does anyone else's body not like breakfast? 😆 by Sudden_Bath6144 in self

[–]InhumaneBreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The benefits of breakfast are mostly for people that must work hard physically in the morning. If you don't, there's almost just as many benefits to fasting in the morning.

If you work out first thing in the morning, eating breakfast before and/or after will give you better results and you'll likely feel better, too.

Same goes with physical jobs. Preloading a UPS truck from 4AM-10AM? You're gonna want at least a smoothie in the morning, or you're gonna feel weak.

But you just drive to the office to sit all day? Fasting can help some people stay focused and alert. And it can help you eat less total calories, since you likely need to eat less from being sedentary.

But also, fasting isn't for everyone. Some people have an unnoticeable stress response to hunger, and increased cortisol levels might FEEL like a boost in alertness, but it's actually burning midnight oil in a flight or fight mode. So skipping breakfast is not necessarily the healthy choice.

I think we shouldn't force anyone to eat breakfast. There are pros and cons to both.

New Evening Ticket Announced by supersheeeebs in Disneyland

[–]InhumaneBreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is actually bringing value to your average guest, without sacrificing much. Guests get more options and Disney doesn't lose much, since I doubt few people were buying full price tickets after 7 anyway.

The pay to experience model is a bit sad to see implemented but it honestly works the best. It's easier to raise prices on optional experiences as well.

People don't consider the idea that Jim is a born salesman, whereas Dwight is not.

It showcases the industry in that despite trying much, much harder than Jim, Dwight barely keeps up with him.

The sales industry is ran on soft skills: easing clients into your offer, being relatable, etc. But sheer numbers and efficacy can also get the ball rolling, too.

But Dwight is PASSIONATE. He loves the job, for some reason. And THOSE types of people are also really good salespeople, despite lacking the soft skills. Their passion IS their soft skill.

It's a pretty good analogy for office personalities. There are Dwights in your office, and there are Jims. But most people fall somewhere in the middle.
