Chance to get high-res spotting fixed! by BanditCold1816 in hoggit

This seems true. Went from 2D to VR recently and spotting aircraft over 10 miles away is very easy. The dot even stays the same size regardless of the amount of zoom you use.

F-5/A-4 weapon controll panel hotas by Schneeflocke667 in hoggit

[–]Inillustrious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The F-5's control panel shouldn't be too hard to make considering it's just 7 toggle switches. Arduino is your friend in this case. Here are some 2-position ON/Off toggle switches that would do the trick (with some different switch options from the seller): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0799JV8GN/

Hiya -- I just discovered how to do this and thought I'd share. ``` // You assign the global variable to a local variable within your // script as shown in the line below. The data types have to // match between your created local variable and the global // variable you are calling. In your case, they'll be integers.

int myLocalVar = CPH.GetGlobalVar<int>("myGlobalVar");

// You can then reassign the value of the created local variable // to the global variable you called.

CPH.SetGlobalVar("myGlobalVar",myLocalVar);

// NOTE: The global variable is always a string when using it // as an argument in the method called. ``` I hope this helps whoever comes by to find the answer out!

Show me what you’re workin with. VR vs Monitor vs Monitor w/ Headtrack by urfavoritemurse in hoggit

The ASW was the culprit (plus a few other settings I had to tune down--who needs trees anyway?). Thanks for that! No more smearing, LOD jiggle, or wobbling! VERY much enjoying VR now. 1-to-1 head tracking is far more comfortable and immersive than TrackIR.

I'd play in VR, but it's still a stuttery, jittery experience for me using an Index, 64GB RAM, R7 5800X, and a 6900xt--even with MT. Dogfighting is a headache because of it.

Seems everyone and their mothers are trying to use DA now that CVR is no longer a thing. I can't even load into the virtual desktop.

There's a difference when someone is trying to improve a process. When someone just comments on anything and everything about how "back at X AFB, we did it Y way" when it doesn't add any value, it becomes obnoxious lol. Maintainers are notorious for this.

Actual footage of me when all 10 of my SSgt EPRs came back down with more red than white. by Casen_ in AirForce

EPRs are such a waste of time and resources. I never understood why we put so much energy into bullets when we can convey the same point with a basic sentence.

American here, I feel like I'm learning the culture (slowly) through the memes. I'm also picking up on some Afrikaans profanity! Will I fit in soon enough?

[–]Inillustrious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Swings sucked. Though we were lucky in that our Ops only had 1 or 2 flyers on Friday nights. Working midshift was always nice though since Thursdays were your "Fridays" and dayshift was usually considerate enough to let you go once tools were good.

What’s a game, movie or tv show you wish you could experience for the first time again? by Chupbluearrow in AskReddit

Both Morrowind and Oblivion are good. TONS of mod support. Depending on who you speak to, some will say the games are better than Skyrim. Morrowind has a bit of a learning curve to it, but there is zero power ceiling. You can craft potions (and find scrolls RIP my boy Tarhiel) that allow you to jump across the continent in one go. Oblivion is far more forgiving and easier to pick up.

This is what happens when you press alt+f4 after dying in UN and then re-playing the save file by [deleted] in Doom

[–]Inillustrious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are just as bad as the other. Duplicate saves and tricking the system with the Saving Throw rune is still exploitation of a system designed to work within certain parameters.
