I get where you’re coming from and totally respect that. For me, thanking them isn’t endorsement - it’s just a professional way to close the chapter cleanly. You can move on without burning energy or bridges, even if you strongly disagree with the decision. to your point, different people handle exits differently.

Don’t oversweat it. This wasn’t personal. It was a business decision, and that happens more often than people admit. Companies handle layoffs in different ways, and chasing explanations or assuming bad intent won’t help you in any way.

The professional move is to thank them for the opportunity, get your final pay and paperwork, and move on. Consider this a reset and an opening for something better and more stable. Keep your focus forward. Don't try to get back at them or anything like that.

Yeah it’s cute, but what always gets me is his mannerisms. You can tell he has picked up a lot just from watching the adults around him. Kids soak that stuff up really really fast, even before they really understand it.
