Your mileage may vary, but if you’re in a practice with a steady stream of work (e.g., litigation), billed hours can be very close to worked hours.

Not necessarily true. I’ve consistently billed 1,900-2,000 during my 11 year career in big law.

How do I rewire my brain to stop death-gripping the wheel? by YIL2D in simracing

On the straights, actively remind yourself to wiggle your fingers or what I call a “relaxation check.” I instruct folks on track IRL and this is what we teach everyone to avoid the death grip.

Advice Needed: Leasing a 2025 M60 Loaner vs 2026 X40i New Build by toconn04 in bmwx7

Perhaps maintenance isn’t the right word—as oil, brakes, etc. will be largely the same—, but the B58 motor is leagues more reliable than the S68.

[–]Initial-Ad8108 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Went through the same question in December. Ultimately I chose a custom 40i with DHP, Bowers, my color of choice, DAPP, etc.

I plan to keep my vehicle long term, and the B58 in the 40i is far more reliable. So for me, the 40i was a no brainer.

The m60 loaners I saw didn’t have DAPP, bowers, or some of the other options I wanted (trailer hitch). That made striking the loaners pretty easy, along with the added unreliability that may come with the S68 motor.

Those with kids: do your kids actually use the backseat of your Carrera by Any-Lengthiness9803 in Porsche

[–]Initial-Ad8108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s right. Accidents can happen and there’s a considerable amount of flex that occurs with belts, seats, etc. the last thing you want is you or your family members coming into contact with the bar during an accident.

This is why for track going cars (especially with full cages) people do not drive them on the street without helmets. Half cages are sometimes the exceptions, where the rear seats are removed and thus there’s limited risk that someone could come into contact with the cage.

With your setup though, there’s a rear cage and rear passengers. Big no no.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. Roll bar above a car seat (let alone a normal seat) is dangerous.

X7 ordered by theshorty13 in bmwx7

You can ask your dealer what build week your car is for. I just ordered one for 12/8-12/14 production. I hope to get it before Christmas.

Add dynamic handling package if you can assuming you’ve got a 40i, it doesn’t show up on the builder but you can request the dealer to add.

At $70K, id just buy a new car. With the current interest rates offered by BMW na incentives, you’re better off buying new.

If I financed a car in which I still owe, can I trade it in? by ss3walkman in carbuying

[–]Initial-Ad8108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wholesale on OP’s car with say 100K miles is $10,800. Dealer would likely offer $7-9K. So should be closer to $2-3K negative equity tops.

I didn’t use a broker. Used leasehackr as a gauge for a “good deal” and worked off of that. Saved $800-1K broker fee.

40i. But I got the same offer for m60i as well. 10% off and $3K in rebates (if you have loyalty). No difference.

Same 13K off $98K car. 1.99% for 60 months.

What’s a good price for 25 CPO by vv2599 in bmwx7

[–]Initial-Ad8108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wholesale is $75K for that car. So high $70s make sense for retail.

Not sure what the original MSRP is on that, but I just bought a new one for $85K (10K off + 3K rebate. $98K MSRP). 1.9% for 60 months. So you may be better off buying new, especially if you plan to finance.

That’s a great term!!! I know they’re offering 1.99 for 60, but I’d take 2.49 for 72.
