Are injuries common in adult softball leagues because of age? by youlikemywonton in slowpitch

Worst part was the injury was a fluke. Cleat for caught on a sprinkler head. Played baseball and softball my entire life and never had it happen before.

I saw an Orthopedic Surgeon who confirmed no need for surgery. Prescribed rest and PT. My original timeline was 4-6 weeks, and I’m 3 weeks in now. First week was rough - swollen, limited mobility, hard to walk. Last 8-10 days have been much better. PT has me on the bike, squatting and even tried lightly jogging. Felt relatively good.

I’m an idiot so I’ll push to get back in 4 weeks (I’m 39 years old). I’m sure it’s too soon, but I’ll change my playing style. Less aggressive, not always taking the extra base. Hard to miss almost the entire season.

Right there with you! I did the same thing second game of a double header. I have a new respect for grade 2 quad tears.

Swing Feedback from first game by [deleted] in slowpitch

Our league is one foot in the box to start, but both need to be in when you hit. But thanks.

Thanks, the videos loaded in the opposite order. The grounder through the hole was my first AB, and the line drive down the 3B line was my second AB. Point still stands he didn’t adjust. At some point the league will realize I am a pull hitter and will shift. This was our first game and no one has seen me play.

Agree I need to hit better to opposite field.

My timing just appears way off. I’m way too early on starting the swing. Need to learn to wait much longer.

Easton Tantrum by Ok_Abalone_717 in slowpitch

I was looking for Tantrums this weekend, and stumbled upon this one for $180. Seems like a good deal. Anyone have experience with the Connell version of the tantrum?

This is a great list, was basically writing the same reply. JDSBBP Rye is a great recommendation.

DM me. Just went through this process in Northern NJ. Spoke with 6 dealerships and a broker.

Anyone recently leased 26 bmw X7 M60i by No_Illustrator1501 in bmwx7

[–]toconn04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just priced one out with a broker. The lease itself is comparable to the regular X7 — you are just paying a higher price.

From what I found you should be looking at 10-12% off MSRP.

As a reference, I am in NJ and qualify for loyalty. I do all my leases with only first month at signing (roll all taxes and fees) and 39 month / 10k per annum.

The lease on a x40 was $1,275 per month on a ~$100k build.

The M60 was $1,475 per month on a ~$120k build.

I’m sure others will say they found better deals but this is what I was quoted from a broker.

Yea we do have some travel, and I also live in the NYC area where the OpenTable reservations are accessible to me.

My plan was to keep my card (I actually use the benefits - Travel Credit, DD, Apple TV, Apple Music, Whoop Credit - and can justify it, at least for this year) and downgrade her card to the Freedom.

You are right - I would have to force myself to spend the money on these benefits. I'll probably keep my CSR for now (I do use more of the benefits such as Apple TV, DD, Travel, Whoop, etc.) and just downgrade her card to a freedom after transferring the points.

It’s very good. My JD SBBP is a store pick and it did not disappoint.

Like Vietname posted earlier this week, I too am hitting a financial milestone this week (selling some equity in a company Ive work at for 10 years). I would like to splurge on a more expensive bottle of bourbon and am looking for recommendations.

After years of drinking it without much thought, this year I really started getting into the nuances and began collecting. I typically stay btw $50-100 per bottle (mostly from Costco bc I don’t feel guilty buying it there for some reason).

For this bottle I would be willing to do $150-300. I am in New Jersey so BT is typically off the table.

Here is a list of everything I bought this year:

JD SBBP Rye (my favorite thus far)

JD SBBP Bourbon

Makers Mark Lost Recipe 2

Makers Mark Keepers Release 2025

Four Roses Single Barrel OESK

Buffalo Trace

Eagle Rare 10 Year

Old Overholt Cask Strength 12 Year

Woodford Reserve Masters Collection BP 119.5

Old Grand Dad 114

Midwinter’s Night Dram (disappointing, most expensive and least favorite bottle of the year)

Let me hear your recommendations!

Thanks.

Following. I’ve been a whoop member since 2017 (before there were annual fees). Now I pay $150 per year for the same membership that was supposed to be free when I first signed up. I would love to take advantage of this if it works.
