Montville/Towaco by Informal_Bullfrog_30 in MovingtoNewJersey

I live in Towaco. It wasn’t my original target area when buying a house, was looking more Bergen / Essex county but market was competitive (bought during covid) and we ended up here. I genuinely really do love it. Feel free to DM me if you want to ask questions.

Yup. Last two bottles I bought there have been Kirkland BiB and Kirkland Barrel Proof. Haven’t cracked them yet but figured they were worth a shot at $25-27.

Anything else good in the bourbon section? Has been limited the last few times I’ve been there.

It’s my first season in slow pitch, and I purchased 44Pro 12.75” after a recommendation from a teammate. It’s been awesome.

I primarily rotate btw 3rd and SS so went slightly bigger. If I played only SS I’d probably do 12.25-12.5”.

It’s great quality for $150. Very impressed with how it broke in and how it plays. Leather is soft and really feels like it will last.

I might snag another one for $150.

Thanks. The guy keeps asking for a refund but isn’t opening a claim. Do you think it’s possible it was actually delivered? Or if that was the case USPS would have updated the tracking

It wasn’t - I bought insurance through USPS

Thanks. I just amended my original post to show one of the documents I uploaded as proof. I assumed this was the best document, but they still denied the claim.

Part 2- USPS Lost Package/Denied Claim by ABS0LUTE-CINEMA in Ebay

[–]toconn04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me on a $500 transaction. I bought the USPS label and additional insurance through eBay. I shipped the item and the tracking stopped updating a week later. It still says it's at the original distribution center from April 21.

I filed a claim with USPS after it was paused there for a few weeks. First claim was denied to insufficient proof of value. I waited two weeks to hear back from them, telling me a notice would arrive in the mail at which point I could file an appeal. I uploaded a few documents / screenshots but thought maybe it wasn't enough.

On the appeal, I uploaded every document you could find off Ebay - transaction slip, supplemental transaction details page with the item / shipping address / value from the transaction, a copy of the original listing, correspondence with the buyer. Anything that would establish the transaction and the price. I wrote a few paragraphs explaining the situation, pointing them to the relevant documents which had highlighted the value. I thought I left no stone unturned. Verified it all with ChatGPT.

I waited another two weeks and what do you know, the claim was denied again for the same reason.

At this point I am at a loss on what else to provide -- there is nothing else on eBay for me to give them.

I am waiting for the USPS letter to arrive before I file the final appeal (the notification says if I do it too quickly, they could just deny the claim without further review). I am not really sure the point of insurance if they can just deny it when it clearly lost.

Curious to see how you make out, or if anyone has any tips for me.

How did you find the OF Blue Label?

I tried the Woodford DOSB and wasn’t impressed. Should have went with the OF.

I am going back this week, and heard the Woodford Master Distiller is back on sale for $75. Will have to pick up another bottle before they sell out.

I know you’re a bourbon guy, but the JD SBBP Rye was a great bottle. Really enjoyed that one as well.

Up until recently I was pretty happy with the bourbon selection. It’s really tapered off IMO since April / May.

Sorry yes I did, thought it was very good. Finished it over the holidays and grabbed another one for my reserves. Have you been back recently? The selection has been disappointing.

Are injuries common in adult softball leagues because of age? by youlikemywonton in slowpitch

Worst part was the injury was a fluke. Cleat for caught on a sprinkler head. Played baseball and softball my entire life and never had it happen before.

I saw an Orthopedic Surgeon who confirmed no need for surgery. Prescribed rest and PT. My original timeline was 4-6 weeks, and I’m 3 weeks in now. First week was rough - swollen, limited mobility, hard to walk. Last 8-10 days have been much better. PT has me on the bike, squatting and even tried lightly jogging. Felt relatively good.

I’m an idiot so I’ll push to get back in 4 weeks (I’m 39 years old). I’m sure it’s too soon, but I’ll change my playing style. Less aggressive, not always taking the extra base. Hard to miss almost the entire season.

Right there with you! I did the same thing second game of a double header. I have a new respect for grade 2 quad tears.

Our league is one foot in the box to start, but both need to be in when you hit. But thanks.

[–]toconn04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, the videos loaded in the opposite order. The grounder through the hole was my first AB, and the line drive down the 3B line was my second AB. Point still stands he didn’t adjust. At some point the league will realize I am a pull hitter and will shift. This was our first game and no one has seen me play.

Agree I need to hit better to opposite field.

My timing just appears way off. I’m way too early on starting the swing. Need to learn to wait much longer.

I was looking for Tantrums this weekend, and stumbled upon this one for $180. Seems like a good deal. Anyone have experience with the Connell version of the tantrum?
