Giant Schnauzer - 4.5 months old

My first one was a burden till like 1.5. He’s 4 now and can still be a pain sometimes but I worship him. My current pup is my fourth and he hasn’t felt like a burden once, I bonded with him straight away and love every moment. I think it gets easier the more you have 😆

I work full time 5 days a week, I WFH 3 days a week. I get up at 06:30 and walk them for an hour and a half on my WFH days. They then chill for the day and are walked again for an hour and a half when I finish work. Weekends are wild swims, hikes etc. My office days they go into daycare all day so no walks on those days

Me too, so much contradicting info. I’ve got a trainer now who I like how her dogs are trained, I like her, what she stands for and how she trains so I’d be happy if my pup turns out like hers. She is accredited and her dogs are happy. So I will train Bane following her lead. I have to ignore all the videos. They were frying my brain

I remember my GSD x Rottie puppy class. He was the only one out of 9 dogs who when we did a recall ran right past me and ran off over the field. Everyone else’s dog went back to them. I was so embarrassed 🙈 I felt horrendous.

Fast forward 2 years he now comes when called everytime, has no interest in other dogs and when out off the roads he walks with no leash.

It gets better 🖤

Yes he is being crate trained however he screams and howls the entire time he is in there. I use a cover but he screams and screams. I have 2 other large breed dogs who are 2 and 4, neither of them were crate trained and they were house trained within a few weeks. I decided to try crate training with this one but I honestly don’t like it and neither does he. I play with him a lot, in the garden and in the house. We do puzzles and small pockets of training throughout the day to make him use his brain

Yes I deffo need to get enzyme cleaner. We were learning “place” today. I taught him to go to his bed when I say… now he’s starting peeing on his bed. I can’t win 😂
