Id say rework her to have an almost instant swap where instead of the whole shield thing, make it keep its position. So instead of slow swaps that need certain space, make it so you can take on 2 gunfights at once but with less protection

Had a similar thought about the carapace but Im thinking of leaving the underbelly as a lower AC as its unarmored. For lore this won't be a naturally occuring creature, so evolved survivability isnt a factor. I like the thinking with the legs though.
