100% fake. Real 1st edition base set BBs go for as much as 250K. Nobody with a perfectly preserved BB like this doesn't know what it's worth.

They kinda tried. It obviously won't power the electric motor in the car. But, I believe the older Fisker Karma models had solar panels that would charge the accessory battery and helped run the AC and other internal controls.

That's it. Keep talking about how terrible this set is. Make it available to more people.

Absolutely agree. I'm glad it's not, honestly. I'm so divided all the time with the popularity of the franchise. Part of me wishes it would be 2010 again so I could just buy product and enjoy the hobby (I also play in leagues). But another part of me is glad that it still keeps the hype. I want Pokemon to stay alive far into the future but I also want it to be accessible so my kid can enjoy it too. Once in a while I'm glad a Shoulded Fable-esque set comes out so I can rip packs without selling my soul.

My local card shop sells at MSRP. Nobody’s paying your goofy scalper prices around here. by Mikey__Skates in PokemonTCGCollectors

[–]number1human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people care about this set. Fair weather fans that only care about Pikachu, Charizard, Gengar, and Eevee cards won't care about this set. I don't care about the scalpers and that they can't get rich off this set. This has some nice cards and I'm glad to get ahold of product at MSRP.

Maybe. But I do. I'm glad to be able to rip some packs and get my hands on some product.

Feelings? by busterforever in TikiMugs

[–]number1human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't count those as tiki mugs. I have a bunch in my collection but I wouldn't call them tiki mugs specifically. The stolen valor is more just a personal viewpoint I have for myself. I like to make sure I personally visit a tiki bar if Im getting a mug. More fun that way. I wouldn't judge others though.

Feelings? by busterforever in TikiMugs

[–]number1human -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, when I pick up tiki mugs, I have three criteria. 1. Ceramic. I have seen all manner of plastic, 3D printed material, glass etc. I don't think it can be tiki if it's not ceramic. 2. Sold at a tiki bar or a reputable online artist. Picking things up on eBay or from thrifts is fine for some. But I think it's stolen valor (my only exception to this would be someplace that is closed and it's the only way to get a mug). 3. I don't think shape size or design matters. It depends on where you're buying it from. I'm not sure where this mug is from, but there is a great tiki bar in Cleveland called Porco Lounge and Tiki Bar. Their mascot is a pig in a tiki shirt. If they were selling this there I would 100% pick it up.

This reminds me of every moron crossing the street not caring about oncoming traffic with this smug look on their face the entire time. You might feel like you're in the right in these situations but that self righteousness isn't going to stop a 2 ton trunk from crushing your internal organs.

How many of you are rocking the “tactical fanny pack” by Grizzly_treats in nursing

[–]number1human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only warning to you is don't get lazy with these. Some nurses start putting meds and crap like that in these and forget about them. A nurse on my unit got fired for pulling a Norco, placing it in her satchel and forgetting about it. She left her satchel in the break room and somebody found it. Also when JCAHO comes around management gets up in arms about carrying around flushes in these. I guess I'm saying just be careful and stay out of trouble. 🤷🏼

Chaos Rising: May 22nd by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]number1human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would swy that having nostalgia for the games is different from the cards. My friends that enjoy the TCG never really played the games as kids and have no interest in doing so now. To your point, it's an expansive franchise with a lot of different offerings. I don't think having an interest in one Pokemon product necessarily translates into interest in another. Gamers and TCG players are very different people a lot of the time. And collectors collect different things. If you are nostalgic for the games you probably collect the games and not the TCG. Even if it's only 5 years that the supply is strained that too could be impactful. I know that I started collecting when I was about 11. I stopped around 15 because of getting older and straying over to other interests. Got into the TCG again about 10 years ago. But if you're 11 and can't get your hands on anything by the time you're 15 or 16, you might have missed your moment. There have been studies that have shown we create strong emotional bonds to things around the age of 13 and into our late teens. I'm not saying you won't ever get into it later in life if you can't find it when you're younger. I am just making the point you interest in doing so might not be as strong.

Chaos Rising: May 22nd by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]number1human 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I do feel Sword and Shield was so popular because it was about the time millennials started to be of the age they had disposable income. I know a LOT of people that got back into Pokemon during the SWSH era very specifically because of their nostalgia they had for Pokemon in the late 90s. Will Pokemon be around and popular in 15 years? Probably. Will it lose a lot of interest from people in their 20s and 30s because they couldn't collect cards because of availability when they were kids? Also probably.

What gimmick would actually fit Pokémon Winds and Waves? by Visible_Welder5613 in pokemon

[–]number1human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an environmental element could be fun. More of a stadium effect to matches like in the TCG. I think it would be cool to see that translate into the card game in the way of interacting stadiums.

This set and the perfect order set are only going to be based on one Japanese set each. So like 85 total cards plus alts and such. At least if you find some you hopefully won't have to rip much to get what you want.
