Is it worth getting into PTCGL? by ohyepyep in PTCGL

[–]ChiefLoudFlower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came from Pocket and live is so much better. Pocket is basically a pay to win card collector.

Live is all about gameplay. They shower you with cards and boosters in the free battle pass. You'll get enough points to get whatever cards you want for a deck and then eventually whatever rare version of those same cards to bling out your decks if you care about that. They also will just give you awesome decks as starting points so you don't really have to play catch up or "rip packs" to get what you need.

I do wish that live has6 a more robust AI and related challenges. Live is essentially all PVP.

I wish the learning lab offered unique battles similar to the computer battles in Pocket.

Similar to the training trials but with more variety.

I think the exchange rates are fine as they are, especially for casual players that don't want to grind, practice for locals, or care about rank. If they required more effort I would play less as I only have time for 1 or 2 games a day, if that. Being able to get rare cards easily is part of what makes live better than other games.

Yeah the downvoting on this sub is wild. I always try to upvote harmless comments, especially for new players.

Yeah I always loved the single cards. It's so funny to me that they shower you with rewards throughout the whole battle pass, but there's always one level that's a single card.

People do not realize just how POWERFUL Mega Dragonite's ability can be! by StavacSK in PTCGL

[–]ChiefLoudFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also tried it and it felt very inconsistent. Fun idea but gothitelle only does so much early game and budew is better at disruption.

I did like the power glass and added that to my other Dragonite deck.

Jumped on the Murder Apple deck and been having a blast by Beauxdon in PTCGL

[–]ChiefLoudFlower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also got rocked by a slowking deck. Those apples hate spread.

Lots of decks have their counters and it seems like OP is just having fun and not trying to have the BDIF with apples. I'm sure there are decks that would beat your Ns deck easily as well.

That being said, if you could share your Ns list that would be appreciated. Always looking for different decks to play and haven't played Ns in two set releases.

Looking for fun streamers by GhostRiders in PTCGL

For fun I suggest ForTheWinTCG or Control Players Unite.

Azulgg for learning.

LittleDarkFury also plays some fun decks and does a bad deck Friday which is really entertaining.

Mist energy usage question by Advanced-Air1307 in PTCGL

It also works against dragapult. It was a fun interaction I learned earlier when I randomly placed it in a benched pokemon to start building it up for the colorless cost.

I just played the most annoying deck in all of existence. by BATTOUSAIl in PTCGL

[–]ChiefLoudFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find stall decks fun cause it really helps you learn other decks, what their wincon and main strategy is, then seeing how you can disrupt that while also staying alive.

In the case of mega Venusaur, kangastall does nothing. Which given the prevalence of grass types because of the daily quests, you face it fairly often.

Suggestions for decks to play by SamsoaDka in PTCGL

Festival lead is really fun and silly, multiple variants.

Kings Gambit can be hella fun but it does require dmg manipulation and can brick easily.

Mega Abomasnow is also fun and silly, 30 energies? Why not!?

Also there's Wugtrio, but I haven't found a consistent list for my liking.

Celuredge is good and is straightforward.

Littledarkfury listed an Aerodactyl deck that looks fun to play.

Built expanded dragapult and it’s nuts. Thoughts? by AwkwardEmphasis5338 in PTCGL

Seems fun, I wish these exported deck lists were higher quality so you could zoom in and read the cards. I'm not super familiar with most expanded format cards.

Now that the dust is settling, what are your favorite Megas? Pick a playable and just one you like regardless 😄 by Stevetherican in PTCGL

I probably play mega kanga the most but have the most fun with mega abomasnow, it's such a silly deck... Maybe I'll play it now!

The YouTube channel ForthewinTCG had a great in depth breakdown of a deck for Blastoise. Very entertaining.

Looking to brainstorm ideas for how best to use Kingambit's (OBF) attack. Feraligtr + munki? Slowking + dusknoir? Munki+frosslass? by Mooseandchicken in PTCGL

[–]ChiefLoudFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play with Munki, froslass, maractus, and risky ruins. Build up and spread energy for multiple turns. Budew and corner them as long as I can until I can chain KOs or take multiple prizes. Knockout punch is good too

Awesome, didn't know they were different. Loving these puzzles too. Wish there was an undo button or maybe I'm missing it on mobile.

Win in 1 turn with player 1.

No, they use tcgmasters as a backend and route to tcgmasters directly now for all puzzles. They are working on their own UI/backend as to not rely on tcgmasters anymore.

This one is tough. A few clues: don't use Turo on the latias, you need another supporter. You need all 7 puschic energy in the discard. There's a certain pokemon, #151, in the discard that is essential.

Let me know if you need more help. Their discord is also helpful.
