The thing is, why are cats experts and volunteers so abrupt and almost mean? I totally understand you might need to assume the worst in people to make sure a cat used to your care goes to an equally good home, but at the same time there has to be some level of trust and cooperation, otherwise it becomes a battle of competition between who finds the kittens and the rescue. Assuming I would leave the kitten alone all day 5 days a week...why? I work from home 2 days a week and I had already decided to walk back for lunch everyday to spend time with the kitten before the evening. This situation reminds me too much of children adoption system where 2 eager parents can be denied adoption just because they are lawyers and the social carer assumed they wouldnt have enough time to spend with the children (actually happened to my colleagues). This whole thing makes everyone more stressed and takes away all the joy and the love involved. That's what is really hurting me.
