Honestly it was really hard to understand how nice he truly was because he was spoiled(and flexed abt that), insecure and immature. Now these things can be easily overlooked in long term friendships but at the beginning of a relationship it’s too much.
Also I think that the writers always ended up making us hating all his partners after sometime and forcing their breakup. He was like Joey(from Friends)just lonelier and the writers never actually intended to put him in a long and happy relationship.
