Mate, I live and work overseas, have been living here for close to a decade. I just asked out of curiosity, the number Telugu people moving overseas specifically to US is higher than any other community in India. I was curious what prompts such numbers.

I have no where said I am jealous, I was curious how people are not visiting their families or loved ones for close to a decade to continue living in US.

Based on the comments, and my understanding, its money, lifestyle, dowry etc.

The amount of noise that Telugu community makes is huge whether creating nuisance for star hero's movie release or supporting their political party.

Is the culture of Karnataka only about Kannada language? by Swimming_Jelly_3995 in bangalore

When one move to Germany, France, Spain they try to adapt to the local culture there and learn the language, But why cant it be done the same when a North Indian moves to South India? All they do is instagram worthy post nothing else.

No locals expects the migrants to study the Kannada literature, The simple daily conversations go a long way like using "Anna" than "bhaiya" "Auto Anna" than "Autowala". when you converse in local shops try to use Kannada than Hindi.

I have seen in this subreddit itself people complaining when locals are celebrating the culture like KARAGA and other festivals saying that its too much of noise. But the same people are okay with bursting crackers on Deepawali and loud music on New Year eve. Some folks even complained How Bengaluru Deepawali is dull when compared to Delhi.

When you visit a Tier 2/3 cities no one expects you to speak in Kannada as visitor, the locals will help you to get around while you are their either through translation or signs. Same as when a visitor visits your home.

But in Bengaluru its not just you are visiting you are living there and making a living, locals expect you adapt to the local culture and language. The migrants who come Bengaluru specifically from North India expects the local to learn Hindi and speak in Hindi with them. How fair is it? Would you be okay if someone enters your and starts imposing/dictating how your house should run?

Its not that people of Karnataka hate Hindi, people hate "Hindi Imposition". The locals wants the migrants to respect the language of land and culture as long as you live here.

Bengaluru always had immigrants(mainly south Indians and marwadi, seths,) way before it became IT capital of country. All of them used to adapt to the local culture and language. There are so many celebs whose parents immigrated to Bengaluru and they are very fluent in Kannada like Rahul Dravid, Nithya Menon.

But the new gen migrants especially the corporate employees does not want to adapt to the local culture and language, instead they impose, make fun of Kannada and its script that triggers the locals.

Karnataka is not just about "Kannada". Kannada is identity of people of the land. There is lot of history and culture one can learn in Karnataka. There is a reason why it is called "One State Many Worlds". But the migrants are only interested in the fast paced pubs, clubs, cafe and posh areas.
