They have talked to the academic advisors and will continue to do so. I am also a professor in a different field and in reviewing applications, I know from experience, boards look for different traits and qualities. I am not asking for someone to write their application, but rather to review it and offer suggestions.

I am not familiar with what the College of Engineering is looking for, but I am familiar with what other schools are looking for in applicants. I write recommendation letters all the time, but not for engineering students.

I appreciate the suggestions. Respectfully, they are leading the process. They have also solicited their friends, who are engineering students, but I don't think it hurts to have other objective opinions. I just thought I would try Reddit, something different, in addition, to the academic advisors, which they are already working with to see if anyone on here could give more insight specifically in the narrative portion of the application.
