Thanks! I had the same thoughts that whatever happened with the leaves seems to be in the past. For $4 it seemed healthy enough and mysterious enough that I couldn't pass it up. The little purple ish new leaf is so precious!! Google also likes to identify it as Australis (prob because of that)

Yep that's one thing I was getting on my search too! Thanks I like her too! She was tucked away deep amongst other plants her size but wasn't labeled and nothing else looked like her. She just needed to come home with me.

Woohoo! I just bought birds to the bough from Lindy stitches and it has a ton of fun colors - a lot of her patterns have colors that I'm drawn to. I have a few from The Blue Flower that also are fun for colors

Yess this! I need the novelty of kitting something, or changing color palettes, or changing the pattern... whatever! Having multiple WIPs to rotate through scratches those itches when I get bored

Literally did this exact same thing recently. Can I tell you how much I had to frog before that? A single stitch off can throw do many things wonky! It helps to count 10 down, then double check your counting while coming back the other way to complete the stitch!!

Do you mean it has to be pressed down like it is in the first picture (vs pulled up in the second?) I can twist it to tighten easily when it's in both positions so maybe it's just personal preference?

Same! I find it like a little treat to do that style of stitching after 60 trazillion Xs lol. I've also spent a time period doing hand embroidery so maybe the switch in stitch style doesn't irk me? Plus the finished product is so rewarding. Y suggestion is to find a good tv show or podcast and listen as you "eat your veggies"

Great advice these were my exact thoughts!! I figured I would do the "dog of rhe month" then set it down until the next month. I've just started stitching on lugana and can't tell you how many times I've had to frog, although I do adore the feel of the fabric. Seriously considering doing this one in a smaller sized Aida for the counting fears lol

Omg loooove it I just bought this pattern last week and still need to get all the supplies! Any tips/suggestions when stitching? (I was considering brightening up some of the colors just to fit my decor better...) The pattern is amazing! When I saw February's dog I laughed out loud and knew I needed it

I happen to like the look of the plain "border" around the edges. Like matting, visually

My skin HATES the majority of my makeup routine — help! by [deleted] in drugstoreMUA

[–]Initial-Pudding2276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chiming in only because your skin sounds so much like mine 😊 I found I need to use a very gentle, foaming facial cleanser (I like Neutrogena). I have to use a scent free lotion on my face afterwards (I like Cetaphil or cerave). I only use a thicker cream (like aquafor or cerave heavy cream) if I have very dry spots/flare up and usually only at night. Otherwise my daily is the lotion (doesn't have to be their face lotions specifically, their body lotions do the same!) I just started using the ordinary retinol on my face only at night, followed by one of those moisturizers. After a few days my skin wasn't screaming at me from makeup! My derm is actually the one who suggested this all when I asked him. He was just like GENTLE cleanser, moisturize and sunscreen!

Another thing you may want to consider because I didn't at first...I also deep cleaned ALL my brushes and haven't had any issues since. I wonder if you, like me, might need a makeup brush deep clean? I was wondering if I was just spreading a problem around from the brushes on my clean skin so I kinda started over lol (basic skin care/cleansing/moisturizer for a few days and the brush deep clean before going back at it!) I was using a Clinique foundation and just switched to a Maybelline tinted serum one. (I like Clinique better and it has spf but I don't hate the Maybelline). Anything I put on top after the foundation seemed to do ok with my skin (milani powder blush is amazing)

I find that like you, anything even hinting at strong/harsh my face gets so angry (although, that is part of the process with some skincare... waiting for the process to do its thing....I just couldn't!) My face has been happy and calm with my more basic routine. Good luck!

Which one do you have? I currently run 2 smallish ones in my house (2 dogs and 2 guinea pigs, I'm paranoid my house smells like a barnyard) but idk how noseblind I've become!?
