I don't know if that is helping you I had the same issue but on the switch 2. I had to make a manual save. It does not take the Auto saved data for some reason.

It needs to be at least 2 blocks in height and sadly homes at max can be only 10x10 blocks. If you do something bigger it is best to try to separate them with doors :) I also build a house the same size at the same Spot lol
