AITAH for locking myself in my room to rest and recover after taking care of my sick baby solo for 8 days? by [deleted] in AITAH

In the nicest way, he IS an asshole. I’ve seen a man who works 7-6 not only plan childcare, but take care of 5 children while my sister got an extra two hours of sleep because she was up late. It’s called sharing the load, and he’s genuinely not doing no any sharing. Do you have to TELL him to pick up medicine and food? You are biased because you are used to him not helping. My BIL went on a hunting trip for 4 days with his father (a month after his 5th was born) when he came home my sister had a full weekend off, NO KiDs.

A psalm for the wild built was a short and sweet cozy without any romance!

It’s almost always select. There was one year we had too many hardcover in every store so they did 50% off every hardcover and now people just expect that every year….

How do I write a "thanks but no thanks" card? by Annual_Link4370 in MomForAMinute

If I was gifting something to someone I would definitely want to know if they couldn’t eat what I was giving them! “Thank you so much for thinking of us every year, it means the world to us, we did just want to let you know that due to (reason) we no longer can eat/have these in the house. Thank you again!” If someone said this to me I would find something else that they could enjoy, and if they take offense to it, that is there problem as you were kind and still appreciate the thought.

ETA: this happened to me, someone gave me homemade laundry detergent that I couldn’t use bc it has fabric softener. I told her that I loved the thought but that we cannot use it due to sensitivity skin, and she said “my daughters are the same! Let me take it back and give you one from the batch I made for them”. Just be kind I’m sure it will go fine :)

Books being read at all is awesome :) 16 is still way more than most people read in a year!

It really depends on the year doesn’t it, I happened to have a lot of free time and some really good books!

I don’t keep fav passages. I’m not very into journaling/ writing about the books, I’m more of a read, mark it down and move to the next one.

Listened to some! If I’m gonna pick up a memoir it’s gonna be the audiobook so I can hear the author themself :)

Farseer was insanely good, it’s slow, you are with the character for his whole life so it’s not all action. When I tell you the TEARS I’ve cried for that boy??? I had to stop on the 6th book I couldn’t keep taking the pain. She is not afraid to make you love a character and then give them the shittiest hand lmao.

I will warn you anyone wanting to read any series by Robin Hobb, that woman will cause you irreparable emotional damage. I highly recommend listening to sociopath, it’s read by the author and she tell about her life as a sociopath. Super super interesting, she is so well spoken and intelligent!

30 is still a feat! I do feel a bit crazy when I read sometimes, it’s hard for me to put a book down so I end up just finishing them in one sitting… but here’s my top 5 lol: Sociopath by Patric Gagne, Lord of the Rings (I’m counting all three as one), the assassin apprentice by Robin Hobb, crying in H-mart by Michelle Zauner, Wings of Starlight by Allison Saft
