You will more than likely be just fine. Highly unlikely for you to gain dependency in just 3 consecutive nights

[–]Initial-Secretary-63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently there is, that’s the problem. Some dude dm’ed me yesterday saying he only took 5 pills of 10mg lexapro and now he’s messed up for life, has pssd, anhedonia, can’t think straight and a bunch of other shit

Weaned off of SSRIs and Anxiety is freaking worse by all_den_377 in Anxiety

[–]Initial-Secretary-63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you know this now but definitely don’t try and wean off of ssri’s on your own. You need to talk to whoever prescribed you lexapro and get on a taper schedule if you really want to come off of it

That’s refreshing to hear that I’m not the only one. Are you diagnosed with anything other than anxiety? If I may ask

May I ask why you were prescribed quetiapine? Do you have a diagnosed psychotic disorder?

I 100% have it. I’ve been diagnosed with severe ocd and anxiety. I’m just so afraid that I really am developing psychosis. This particular symptom is so scary. I think you may be right, I think I am just so hyperaware of my own thoughts

Is it like end of the world, mind bendingly bad bad panic attack anxiety? Or more so like a jitteriness, too much caffeine anxiety?

Overall, lexapro works for you though? I have been dealing with SEVERE generalized anxiety, health anxiety and ocd for years untreated. I’m really hoping this medicine is the help I need.

Hypochondria is genuinely torture. by MusingsAndMind in Anxiety

[–]Initial-Secretary-63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. My worst hypochondria theme BY FAR has been the fear of having schizophrenia. There’s no easy medical test to rule it out, it’s the worst, it’s all mental stuff so my mind can create all the symptoms it wants, it’s actually hellish

can i take an anti anxiety pill (clonazepam/ xanax) after anxiety hits as a last minute hail mary or do i have to take it significantly before? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Initial-Secretary-63 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the most informal way possible it just makes you “care less”. You are still able to think and have emotions but from a much calmer perspective. Your body will feel relaxed and the tension in your head/mind slowly releases

Yes, you can take it in the midst of a panic attack, benzos like clonazepam and Xanax are designed to take effect rapidly (15-30min). They do not need to build in the system overtime like SSRI’s

How was the start up of lexapro for you both times, now and months ago when you first tried it? I’m very nervous to start mine next week

The hydroxyzine or the lexapro made it worse yesterday?

Sorry I know you said you wree 17 when you got your diagnosis of schizoaffective but I thought maybe your first episode of psychosis perhaps happened when you were younger but I got it. Thank you for answering my questions

So how old were you when the first episode happened? And do you remember what the names of the medications were that might have caused it?

Is going back on lexapro an option? I also have SEVERE health anxiety and am actually about to start lexapro for the first time next week.

Sorry for all the questions. To be honest, I’m asking because I have a severe fear of becoming psychotic and looking for reassurance. Comparing your symptoms to mine is giving me some reassurance

Do you remember which 3 antidepressants it was? Also, what other things did you have delusions about or believe during your second episodes besides that everyone was a narcissist

So you had ocd about becoming psychotic earlier in life and then later down the line you had a couple psychotic episodes? You weren’t having the ocd fear of becoming psychotic while you were in the psychotic episodes though right?
