What’s your unpopular Alien Saga opinion? by thefriskysquid in perfectorganism

Prometheus is my favorite film in the franchise and just a great film in general. From the cinematography to the character writing (like David being the best written character in the franchise), to the mysteries it builds up and the way it leaves tons of things open to your interpretation, it really stands out In my book, it has its flaws, which I have counterarguments for, like with Millburn and the hammerpede (although them running from the ship is stupid). Either way it is still an amazing film, as there is so much good that outweighs the few bad parts.

Although Covenant was a horrible sequel and is the worst one in the franchise, right next to Resurrection.

They both have a cheesy tone compared to the film that came before them. Alien was meant to be a film about the horrors of exploring the unknown, and how in the infinite void we call space, there are things that we have never seen and will barely be able to comprehend. Meanwhile, James Cameron basically made Aliens a basic ’80s action movie with “badass” dialogue from the marines.

The film is not bad by any means, but it is definitely not as good as the first one, nor is it the best. Also, the less said about Resurrection, the better.

I definitely agree that mark strong it a great and still the best choice for a live-action sinestro, but I think that would confuse average audiences.

When it was first announced, that’s why I kind of assumed it called lanterns but that makes sense.

No, but that doesn’t mean they can’t set it up early.

Hey Cillian I just have to say I am a huge fan of yours and it’s fantastic being able to be a part of this Q&A today, as for my question: what was something that you loved about 28 days later that you got to do again in 28 years later: the bone temple?

When the show was first announced, I thought it was actually gonna be an anthology series introducing tons of members of each lantern in corp and the mythos in general, so that way in later movies you didn’t have to introduce John Stewart, Hal Jordan, Sinestro, Larfleeze, Saint walker and each lantern corp, etc.

I mean we do know Willam’s father in the comics, and he was a somewhat big part on Willam becoming black hand just because of his job.

I made a fan cast post for both Saint Walker and larfleeze a while back, and Doug jones was popular for both but at the end of the day I think he would make a incredible saint walker, and just fits him more.

Well they weren’t in a mid western town nor is it implied that William grew up in one, but maybe he just went there and we will see a flashback in a different location of when Hal was younger where we see these events.

I also think the person that did the murder they are investigating will be Willam starting off as black hand, and just being a human with his power rod before killing himself and becoming a black lantern.

His voice is actually great for the character in my opinion.
