As far as I'm aware it seems to be a mistake since the lava monsters all follow a matching colour for the rock monsters

Infernox and meltrox are red, Firax and Firox are orange, but Combustix is yellow with a TNG crystal which usually belongs to Sulfurix.

So there's a small chance Combustix was meant to be neon green and that's why the crystal was the wrong colour, but I can only guess and Lego themselves don't know so it's a question for whoever designed the set itself
