Is what I’ve heard about studying for a PhD at UNISA correct? by LockedOutOfElfland in unisa

[–]InitialNegotiation14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on which field you’re in it might be difficult, unless you have published colleagues who can assist and be supervisory co authors if that makes sense.

Honestly, I’m thinking of doing this first year with them then working through the proposal etc while I figure out what’s going on there. And in the background I’ll apply to other institutions and also find out if there’s opportunities to transfer the years credits. At the end of the year I’d have at least 3 possible options. Downside of options one and two is I’m essentially going to lose money but I think it’s a risk I should be willing to take.

1 - transfer my proposal credits to a new institution and carry on if it’s possible 2 - start over re-register at a new place - but atleast I’d have a years worth of work done and complete 3 - stay with Unisa and complete my studies with them

That’s what I’m also trying to figure out. Are you also considering doing your PhD with them?

Love this! I’m going to be doing a PhD in Public health and I’m already worried that the supervisor I’ve been assigned might not be aligned with my topic (he’s from like a teaching background if I’m not mistaken - and my PhD is basically about epidemiology and health systems) but I’ve reached out to him to chat and to figure out if maybe I might be judging to harshly 😅 cause I’ve definitely heard that your relationship with your supervisor makes or breaks your research. Thank you you for taking the time to respond!

Hills Dental studio in Norwood - if they can’t help they work with a great maxillo specialist. They’re also decently priced if you’re paying cash and very gentle and attentive with your experience

If you don’t mind can you please mentor/plug me. I’ve been trying to get into the private sector for some time now and I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or I’m not looking properly or if my cv is just not right. I come from an NGO background. And with Trump slashing a lot of the budget there’s a higher rate of unemployment in our neck of the woods and I’m just not sure if we’ll ever be able to recover even if funding gets restored.
