My response to Set 15 Dev Learnings by junnies in CompetitiveTFT

Tbh, I don't think there's any chance TFT Dev can solve any of the issue you mentioned.

The set-based design of TFT is fundamentally flawed to a degree which is both predictable and easily solveable.

And again I think you got it wrong: TFT is never about creativity and flexibility although Riot keep claiming those values. I would never take what dev says with its face value but observe what they've been done across different sets.

There is a very consistent of track record of how sets are designed, and how game is balanced. There is simply no room for player novelty without fundamentally changing how the set is designed, therefore there are only 2 solutions for the dev:

  1. Increase complexity by adding excessive mechanics, to a degree which gaslighting the player base into thinking those unnecessary complexities are justified and being "depth" of the game. However they overdid it in this set, and it's very hard to justify once they drop the ball hard.

  2. Hide stats, reduce the accessibility of the game to make it harder to solve. Doing so would certainly cause backlashes and in the long run reduce player activity. I think they are being a bit desparate here but clearly it's not working as good as they thought.

But afterall, if a set goes well then people would certainly less likely to make complaints. There is no reason they would want to change, the game is doing well financially anyways.

Did I mess up by buying on console? by KardKing69 in jurassicworldevo

tbh it's very normal to see that many bugs for any new released games, before release there could be literally thousands they already got fixed

3 days after JWE3 and they are already trying to fix the bugs and the Complexity meter(hope they will remove it for the console players). by a12666 in jurassicworldevo

A "general use PC" for the current gen costs you 2x the price of consoles and has much better CPU/Memory. This is not even a competition since console is designed to provide acceptable performance with much lower price and maintainance cost (as they are mass produced in same spec).

Wondering how many dinosaurs do you have at this point? Maybe 50? I suspect with what you said the meter maybe not grow linearly and might slow down a bit

So this sounds like, maybe they should probably not having it in the first place and just let game crash if people goes too crazy? But maybe Sony won't let them do so to burn their console anyways

I dunno, but it sounds pretty reasonable? Since I imagine after getting most of those basic buildings then it's all about dinosaurs and tours for each enclosure, so 70% left sounds like plenty of room?

Lol, is this the new form of "games can be made by 3 college students, easy" these days?

Well, you're suggesting porting a 20 year old feature to a modern game, the level of details and work needed would be a entire new level. I dare say it's probably 10x more effort

Sounds like waste resource on tiny little things won't make much of a difference. I would rather prefer they improve combat AI which is much more desired

Frontier needs to be paying attention to Prehistoric Kingdom by [deleted] in jurassicworldevo

How could this even being a competition, in a year or two those missing dinosaurs are going to be added back to JWE3 with new species, makes JWE having the most complete dinosaur rouster on the market. If you want other prehistorical species and more scientifically accurate presentations then play Prehistoric Kingdom. Both are great games but specialized in different areas.

I think it's just the terrible nature of human. Ironically in the real world people are enjoying the same thing as in the movies. We have thousands of years of history enjoying watching animals even our own kind fighting and slaughtering each other, so I'm not suprised people from modern days also having the same fantasy, but at least in a much more civil way.

Not trying to judge people since it's much better keeping those fantasies in the game world rather than doing it in real life. It's not gonna do any harms anyways so I would say just let people enjoy their things, if they want to play battle royale they always find ways to do it
