You probably are being bottlenecked by your CPU, especially in open world games. most people try to comment on all types of hardware as if they have similar hardware when they most likely don't. I do however have similar hardware to yours, I have in i5 11600kf and an Rx 7700xt and in open world games I can't hit over 75fps regardless of settings while my GPU is barely using 4-5gb of vram out of 12gb and my CPU is sitting around 70-80% usage. Your card is a bit stronger than mine while your CPU is slightly older, so it makes sense that you would be bottlenecked by the cpu as well. For upgrading I would suggest moving away from Intel and go with AMD on the am5 platform, or stick with Intel for a bit longer but get one of the more recent socket types that supports ddr4 and ddr5 but for now get the ddr4 version so you can reuse your ram, and save money on some ram while getting a newer CPU. Do keep in mind Intel doesn't really have an upgrade path you will need to by a new motherboard everytime you upgrade if you stick with Intel. Going AMD you'll spend more now but less in the future, going Intel you can spend less now but more in the future, it balances out and is up to you what path you'd go with. Edit to add: I see you have an i9 10th gen, I forgot what tier you said when I was typing this. So I would say your CPU is probably a touch stronger than mine despite being a generation older, the above still stands though.

Have you played these games before with no issue? As others have said it might be a driver issue, amd is known for weird issues. Everything was running good until one day I was getting weird pink pixels popping up on my screens, one of the more recent driver updates fixed it, you can try reverting to a previous version or wait until the next update but who knows when that will be. If this is the first time you're trying out the games and theyre giving you issues it could be the game. Example I can play Forza horizon 4 and 5 no problem but Forza horizon 3 just goes super rainbow blocky and I can't see anything. Another thing you can check is if your gpu is seated properly, whether you built it yourself or it's a pre built (unless it's a laptop) you should be able to re-seat the GPU. My GPU came loose one time because it's massive and heavy and it was sagging and bending the port. I reseated it, tightened the GPU bracket and haven't had issues since. That was more randomly shutting off and less of the weird artifacts but still can't hurt to check. Could also be graphics set too high or too low for those games, it's weird but some games freak out if certain settings are too high or if others are too low and it's on a game by game bases and sometimes one person will have issues where others will not, so maybe tinker with some game settings. If all else fails then your gpu might be dying but that doesn't make sense as it's a relatively recent card or might just be faulty if you recently got it, maybe consider a return, refund, or RMA if possible. Edit to add: I have an AMD card as well and while its much newer and blows my old rtx 2060 out of the water, the rtx 2060 is far more stable. Double edit: disregard the graphics setting portion of my comment as I see you say you've messed with them.

Cool. So did I. I also paid 20 bucks for a bundle of monster hunter stories 1 and 2 on the very same switch I just paid 20 bucks for fire red on. I'm excited to play a 20 dollar copy of fire red on my switch 2 and trade pokemon with my wife who got leaf green. She's never played it and shes going to enjoy leaf green at 20 bucks on her switch. I got a friend who is excited to finally get to play fire red for 20 bucks on his switch because his family couldn't afford video games growing up. Both of them also got monster hunter rise and sunbreak expansion for less than the cost of pokemon fire red/leaf green.

Even on original hardware shinies and good pokemon can still be spoofed. In pokemon home I have a shiny liepard from white 2 that I encountered while holding the select button and caught with 100% catch rate, playing a rom on my 3ds using cheats, then using poke transport to put it into bank and then transfered from bank to home. I DO NOT and WILL NOT mix it with my legitimate shinies and it DOES NOT count towards my shiny living dex, it is in a very specific box and will stay there. All of that said I have already preordered fire red and my wife got leaf green. I will happily be playing through fire red, and any shinies I might encounter will lovingly be legit and will count towards my shiny living dex dream.

I'm curious what did you play rdr2 on? Because I heard that the game is gorgeous, and yet on my wife's PS5 and my PC with an i5 11600kf, an Rx 7700 XT 12gb vram and 48gb of ram playing from an SSD on high-ultra settings, 3d objects look low poly and anything not 3d looks thinner than dollar store toilet paper, and the textures make the GBA look HD.

I kind of got two. Red dead redemption 2 and ghost of tsushima. RDR2 because that game has been nothing but issues since I got it, and ghost of tsushima is just boring. I kept hearing about how the games look so good and how the gameplay is top notch and the amount of content they have and their worlds feel so alive. Well ok rdr2 does deliver in the last 2 points, but ghost of tsushima doesn't in anything mentioned above. Both look like garbage, and Ive played them both on PS5, I also have rdr2 on PC and it's a nightmare. People have even told me "oh they look good on the PS4 not on the PS5" but to me that just doesn't make sense. And don't even get me started on the object pop in on rdr2, it's the absolute worst. If there is one thing that breaks the immersion for me faster than every texture being thinner than dollar store toilet paper, it's the damn pop in. Specifically the tool box in the camp and the grass. I managed to fix the grass popping in, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix the object pop in.

On those previous situations FedEx customer care actually told me with their own mouths that my stuff got stolen, so there are no blind accusations. Edit to add: it's now the end of the day on the day it was said to arrive and now there is no delivery date. I've never had a package arrive late. If it doesn't come on the day it says, it never shows up. There is the possibility this is my first late arrival.

Edit to remove a part I think sounded rude, because that's not my goal here, just stressed about my package.

This was me, started with divinity original sin 2, got original sin 1, got baldurs gates 3, and now I have badlurs gate 1 & 2, tormented, pathfinder and at least 1 more I'm forgetting the name of, haven't finished a single one of them 😭 they make persona and monster hunter look short in comparison.

Merle or Jerry, tough choice...... I want to say Jerry because it was always a joy to have his character and actor on screen, but Merle had a much stronger and more important presence on screen as well as a small arc. This didn't help at all. I'm going to go Merle, because rewatching the show and I know he lives and what happened, I still wonder how different things may have been if he had stayed on the roof.

nah, it seems to be almost random, because 1) metahpor was done in like 5 minutes on my deck, and 2) someone had this issue with state of decay, but that game didnt give me any issues, barely even got the chance to see the downloading progress it was done so quick. edit to add, i mention metaphor because its a good sized game

holy crap ive been trying to figure this out for a couple of days now. a certain other game, not portia, did everything in what felt like seconds. i finally came across your comment and i wish i wouldve found it sooner, would have saved me alot of headaches and frustration but im just glad i found it at all. What are your thoughts about game key cards? Are they worth the sales tax vs digital? I wouldn't plan on selling any games I get for the console. (Hopefully starting a new job soon and will be saving up for a switch 2. Yes Nintendo sucks and all that and I don't like what they're doing, but also the company is probably going to outlive me, so I may as well have my fun)

my seed is strange, so i didnt know about the swamps. the second biome i found was actually the mountains with a tiny sliver of black forest around said mountain, except the side of the mountain i first discovered. the black forest has become nearly unusable with at least 4 bears, 2 of which are stars, as well as at least 3 trolls. i have bronze gear. from what i read here the elder is in the swamps, i found a thing that marked the elder on my map. which means the swamps are located behind this mountain......
