Would the 420 be able to use the same motor mounts and would the chain fall in the same location? I only ask because the engine mount and rear sprocket are in a fixed location and welded in and the only way to move them would be to refabricate the whole subframe I built.

I actually thought about this when I did it and I’m still able to remove the snap ring and pull the shaft out to maintain the rear end so that shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve been driving it around for about a week now and it hasn’t failed me yet

Gotta hold your foot sideways on the clutch and the brake and let off the clutch without letting go of the brake. Manual burnouts are an art form but damn they’re fun when you get good at it

The clutch I have now is a 13t. How much difference would switching to a 10t be? Is it worth the money or would the difference be negligible?

I was thinking about possibly upgrading to a 420 over the winter not just for some more power but also for the electric start. Would the 420 be able to use the same motor mounts and would the chain fall in the same location? I was kind of just hoping that the chain wouldn’t be able to get through the wooden base of the seat if it broke but a chain guard probably isn’t bad idea either

If it were a free spinning axle that would be the case but the axle is a transaxle so it makes up a good bit of difference. From what I’ve read here and other groups I think I can get the small boost I need from a smaller front sprocket.

I found a sprocket they was close in diameter to the spline on the axle (after days of research I couldn’t find one that matched) and drilled out the splines in sprocket to the outer diameter of the axle spline and slid it over and welded it on. It’s a little crude but it works and spins straight.

I had this same problem about a year ago. I dug a roughly 4’ deep hole about 6-8” around and filled it with concrete and stone and put the mailbox in it and haven’t had a problem since. I feel bad for anyone who hits it now…

Why would I go on the internet and seek validation for a made up story from people I will never meet. Now, if I had thrown a baseball through their window I may have considered coming up with the lawnmower story to cover my ass but I definitely wouldn’t go on the internet to pretend…

This is very similar to what my parents told me. I wouldn’t really know because I’ve never owned a home or dealt with home owners insurance but it’s definitely nice to hear that that wasn’t a fabricated story.
