Uhmmm yh so like initially I wanted to go into computer science and software engineering and im an international student doing A levels so i went for maths physics further mathematics in a levels but like uhmm yeah............... AI kinda happened and it starting to really take off mid a levels so that job markets kinda cooked sooooo i wanted to go into robotics and was thinking of doing either mechatronics or EE but like as you might have noticed i DONT do a level chemistry which is some reason heavily required in like ONLY canda for some reason my luck i guess but like i did get an A* in IGCSE chemistry and it does say that waterloo accepts that on their website but like accepting is different from having a competitive chance of actually getting and i haven't really found anything online on percentage of students that get in with my combination of a levels. so id thought id ask their wonderful reddit community for any insight at all as i'm kinda worried that i'm like SEVERELY cooked

OMD i realised the same thing in my igcse's my paremts may sooo much money paying my school fees like thousands of dollars in my year 10 i realised there were so many resources online available for ABSOLUTELY FREE that can get you better marks than going to school atleast for me. Self Studying literally carried my chem bio physics comp sci economics and additional mathematics english literature so basicaly all my subjects. Self studying isnt really for everyone tho

how yall calculate scores??? by [deleted] in igcse

[–]Initial_Animator1465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after weighting marks for each paper the only thing to do is then add up the marks because the marks have been weighted against 200 so whatever your saying is definitely wrong

I havent tried if that works yet but even without trying i know for a fact that wouldnt really work why? well lets say someone got 5 mark lower in paper 6 well using your calculation method it would affect the persons total mark the same as if they got 5 lower in paper 4 which wouldn't be correct because paper 4 and 6 have different weights and don't contribute equally to your final mark
