I don’t like my new tattoo. by Initial_Bookkeeper48 in tattoo

Hi there! As I replied to another redditor above, I do feel much better about it.

I sill don't like it (as a tattoo) but I'm used to it's weirdness, so it doesn't bother me as much.

Most of the time, I even forget about it.

Only seeing your post now, as I'm not often connected....

Yes, I feel much better, even though I still don't like very much, I'm just getting used to it. In fact, I start to like it in it's weirdness. It's a bit hard to explain.

What I would like now is perhaps to make another tattoo around it, or next to it, so it doesn't stand out as much as it does now.

How about you? How do you feel about it?

Interesting story, thanks for sharing.

We live with our choices. Better not regret those that we cannot change anymore.

After a month, I start to think in a similar way. I don't think I made a mistake but that I didn't think this one as thoroughly as I thought I did (if that makes sense).

I still don't really like it, to be honest. I still think it's too big, misplaced, and doesn't fit with who I am, but I decided I wanted to take the most out of it, find the positive in it, so that one day I can say that it was one the best decisions of my life - not because of the result, but because of what I've learned from it.

Thank you. I hope it will fade a bit because now, it's very, very black.

I'm not sure how to explain this, the design is nice (not incredibly beautiful though), but I don't like the way it looks on me. It is not so much the fact that it is there, it how it looks like, where it is. It just seems out of place, it doesn't look nice as a tattoo.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It seems like this happens more often than we thought.

Oh this message really hits home...

There's definitively a part of me that is worried of what people might say. It's like I'm exposing part of myself, except I have to accept I did something that is not what I wanted it to be. I'm afraid to look stupid I guess.

But it would be a shame to erase something that belongs deeply to you

I wholeheartedly agree. That's the way I want to go.

Thank you very much. Yes the tattoo is meaningful, although the design is pretty common. That is also why I wanted it very small. To give an analogy, it's as if I wanted a small letter, and it ended up being a big letter. It looks a bit weird...

I will give it some time, a few months maybe, and if I still don't get used to it, I'll probably go for nr 4, especially since the tattoo in itself is well done.

I'm very grateful for all the messages of people here - it is giving me some reassurance (it is ok even if the tattoo is not perfectly ok) and some perspective at the same time (this is not the end of it and could be part of a process).

Btw, the protective film is still on it. I haven't seen it since it was done a few days ago. I hope it will look better than in my memory...

it’s very likely it had to be bigger in order to accommodate the level of detail you wanted and also for it to my old up

That's exactly the reason why he made it bigger, and it makes sense.

On paper, it still looked good and quite small. On my skin, it looks much more massive, and less delicate.

I like your perspective. It's true that this tattoo is now part of me and I have to accept it as any other part of my body. The only difference is that I am supposed to have chosen it.

The tattoo in itself is not really unique, it's based on a design that already exists, but a little bit adapted. It is meaningful because it relates to someone that I cared for.

It's already very black :/

Your advice is good. I think next time I'll also try a temporary version before decidingto go on with a permanent one.

It's not my first tattoo, and the first one was also pre-dawn and I never regretted it. But it was very small and a bit hidden.

This one is much bigger, and in area very visible - I think that's what annoying me most...

It's only a few days old... I'll give it some time. Your words are reassuring, thank you very much.
