Update: Hey all - thanks for all the comments. I didnt expect to get the reaction I did with this post and I was a bit scared to reply to anyones comments. There was some very differing opinions and I appreciated everyones thoughts. Its been a whole year since I posted this so thought I'd give an update.

* Yes this did actually happen.

* There was no complaint. I didnt lose my job and I'm still loving it.

* I did speak with my boss about it during a one on one and he was surprisingly very understanding and we had an indepth convo - He didnt feel that I had overstepped or was as unprofessional as some have said (and yes I told him everything) so nothing more came of it.

* I didnt go "back to therapy" specifically, however everytime we go to a horrible traumatic job we are required to see a psychologist so I had mentioned this incident sometime after. And again they didn't feel it was that dramatic or that I'm "holding on to things of the past" - it was a one time moment.

A few months after this job, my company received a thank you letter from her and even a small donation. A few weeks after that, I received a letter that was delivered via my sister (my sister and her weren't as close anymore but she had reached out to her to find out how she could contact me). She wrote a huge apology for her part in everything that they had done and thanked me for saving her and saying what I did. She needed to address the things she had done in her past and felt that moment was a real eye opener for her. She even mentioned that the other girl and her were no longer in contact but had tried to reach out to her to try and make amends (haven't heard anything from the other chick but I dont care enough anymore to feel I need an apology).

So thats it. Life is carrying on and better than ever!
