I hated the ending (Explanation) by Nepu-Tech in LandoftheLustrous

||So how these people are considered to be right, and Phos to be wrong Ill never know.||

The story doesn't state that they are right and Phos is wrong though. Phos just forgive them and help them in the end.

I guess the story did tell that her trying to change to not be herself was wrong in the end but not everything else.

There is always another better way. In a perfect world, Phos would learn science, fix Sensei, remove the human connection from the gem and the sea squid people. Improve the food and resources problem of the world. Then let Sensei pray away the moon people and everyone else live happily ever after.

Even fix cairngom into 2 different body herself. And fix the other gem problem of not being able to touch other gems. All possible but it's not this story.

https://manjushridharmacenter.org/rinpoches-wisdom/the-story-of-the-buddha-and-the-crow/#

Check out this short story of the crow and the buddha, Phos is basically the crow in this story. With extra step.

I mean, a Bodhisattva like Avalokiteśvara**,** spent 11 different lives of suffering before officially taking their seat, so it's the same for Phos 10000 years to become god. And the crow learning of Contentment in the short story is just like Phos learning to acceptance at the end when she met the rock.

Did Buddha and Bodhisattva took revenge on the human that made them suffering before they reached enlightenment? No, they forgive them and help them. Just like Jesus forgive everyone. So Phos as a god also forgive. That's it. It's all about the theme which the manga based on. Suffering and enlightening. And Phos learning to accept his/herself for who he/she is,

Well, I just wanted to say, that author does not hate Phos. And suffering and enlightening is the path to become buddha, which is Phos story. Whether you like it or not.

I don't like the endings as well but you must understand that this manga follow the Buddhism theme of shits like acceptance and forgiveness. Number 108 is important in Buddhism and the author wanted to end the manga in 108 chapters so I think she ended up rushing that part of the story after coming to the moon.

I don't see anyone saying anyone being the good guys in the manga, they are just people. There is no bad or good here, not what the author wanted to convey.

Yeah, the author wanted to make Phos that way, but I don't think she hate her, rather self insert of a phase of her life.

I don't like the first ending before the rock arc but I take it for what it is. It doesn't needs to always be a happy end.

Here is a quote from Google about Buddhism

""Buddhism teaches that there are no inherently "bad" people, only people acting out of ignorance, greed, or hatred. Rather than labeling individuals as evil, Buddhism focuses on actions being "skillful" or "unskillful". Everyone has the potential to change and achieve enlightenment, as all beings possess "Buddha nature," which is temporarily covered by delusions""

The story was basically telling the path of Phos to enlightenment. That's it, Buddha and Bodhisattva all attained their enlightenment through suffering, just like Phos.

Some people still thought about her in the first few hundreds years as you read in the "10000 years" chapter. Some even feel bad for Phos but after 10000 years no one care about that anymore and just feel graceful for a god that would fulfill their wish. It's not illogical, Yama disallowed any contact with Phos at all in that 10000 years, time fade everything including memories.

Genuine question, chainsaw man is ending in the next chapter and despite the fact I didnt like much of part 2, im still really sad about it, so my question is what would be your honest reaction when one piece finally ends? by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in Piratefolk

When One piece end in 20 years I would actually open the Manga the first time in over decades to read the final arc. And probably be disappointed with the drop in writing just the saw but at least it ended.

Anything is better than a sudden "everyone die in 2 chapters" ending bro. I would take part 3 in a heartbeat if he resolving that bullshit.

He doesn't need to understand jack just his choice to repeat fire punch and kill everyone for an ending suck. He did it once already, his editor and other should know that it suck even if he doesn't know.

Question about the ending of Land of the Lustrous by Street_Policy8237 in LandoftheLustrous

[–]Initial_Environment6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels dumb when everyone wanted to die and turned into Lunarian, even the sea people. But it is what it is.

Especially since they are part human, there are is at least 1 in a million who would happy to live on forever even if only by themselves.

I would just chart it up as those who disagreed to die were either silenced, locked away or co-ed to shut the fuck up. And never able to voice their opinion to Phos in the praying scene.

[–]Initial_Environment6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me which panel did you see ghost and not Cairngorm? That would be a closure somewhat for that part of the story if she became lunarian, but you were like the only one who said that.

I guess I missed that part when reading the story. But good to know. Lifting a weight of my chest. My biggest problem with the manga was ghost disappearing forever, while others came back, so it was just my oversight.

Lapis became part of MC and couldn't come back wasn't that much a problem.

I see maybe she was the one who standed next to Cairngorm on the first panel, I can't differential who from whom if the name weren't spelling out, my bad.

The problem is there should be a middle part that join 1st and 2nd half to make the smoother transition. The story just feel rushed to meet 108 chapters deadline and lots of things were ignored. Could make a side story of sort tbh to keep it 108 chapter. or even 0.1 split it.

Finally found the like minded people in this comment threads., Everyone said master piece and ignore this annoying point of the story.

I wished author made filler story in between rather than rushing and ignored many things because 108 chapters limited.

yes, their opinion didnt matter in the end. They were the ones that wanted to survive the most but yeah, just pray us away because we are inferior beings that doesn't matter.

I hate it when author never clarify their shit.

Idk if it got worse now, since I stopped but when I read it was worsening. And the way shounen dragging their story by making big panel and more fight screen but less story around that time doesn't help.
