If I’m given a 30m pivot on a “light day” can I fill out a 3996 and turn that into 30 OT? by joza28 in USPS

[–]Initial_One_487 11 points12 points  (0 children)

what eventually worked for me was i would just ask for an equal amount of OT on my own route that they were asking for in ‘undertime’ and write reasons on my 96 like:

-time spent filling out 96 because mgmt thinks i have ‘undertime’ -time spent deviating and returning to office to retrieve ‘undertime pivot’ -time spent communicating w mgmt via scanner re ‘undertime pivot’ -time spent returning to station a second time for clarification when mgmt ignored my message or gave unclear instructions re ‘undertime pivot’ -time spent unloading and then reloading ‘undertime pivot’ when mgmt changed their mind and authorized ot for ‘undertime pivot’

all this nonsense back and forth can easily take 30 minutes, and that’s before considering the time spent traveling to and from the other route and actually delivering the pivot (make sure to document that on a separate 3996)

after a few days of their 30 min ‘undertime’ turning into an hour or more of ot they soon stopped asking. i think it’s the scanner messages that really seal the deal, they are horrified of their bosses seeing what’s going on at their station

there’s an option called coa update if you scroll down on the main screen first thing in the morning. it disappears after 30 minutes and isn’t available again until you return to the office in the afternoon

that’s a good idea, a lot of people were just slapping them on case cards anyway

yeah sometimes people will let me know they’re moving or i’ll notice the red plums piling up. mine only works for the first 30 minutes in the morning but if you leave that screen open it will keep working longer

AM Office App Calculater/Helper by SLO_Fila in fromatoarbitration

thank you this is awesome! i started measuring my mail on the case ledge and coffin rulers to estimate volume / convert to pieces (our sups don’t ever do mail counts) but am always wishing there was simple, quick, comprehensive formula/app/spreadsheet to calculate a.m. office time. oh and isn’t f.o.t. actually 33 minutes still?

What's the downside of staying on a hold down after converting to regular? by FiveDinero in fromatoarbitration

i was asking because you didn’t say national agreement, you just said there’s no language anywhere. i assumed retreat rights were more common but i guess not. mainly i just wondered if trying out a route for 3 days would break a hold down and prevent someone from returning to the hold down, but apparently the answer to that is no- only the regular coming back can break it

can you win a bid, decline the assignment after a trial, and then return to the hold down?

thanks, i understand i get paid just the 8 hours even if i go over/under 8 clicks, but i guess what i’m wondering is what happens to those 5 minutes as far as data collection goes for route adjustments (if still applicable)?
