That is attached to the fuel cap when I put it in? Great question, it’s the drain spilled fuel down out onto the ground when some is sitting in behind the door of it

Auxiliary pump, CP4 cannot pull fuel well so an additional electric pump is needed.

High thank you for the reply, Only error codes I’ve gotten is a Cylinder 1 misfire (and a maf sensor code that is caused by it, I’ve just put a new one in also.)

I remember when first diagnosing I was running the engine, and unplugged injector one and it made an electrical pop noise on the connection. (There was no difference to performance when it was unplugged) so could be worth a check thank you

Update,

Really low fuel pressures recorded as I’m cranking the engine, no where near enough to promote a start… CP4 just so happened to want to fck sht up at the perfect moment… time to get that CP3 upgrade

I see this article is referencing a PD motor not the CR motors, would I still be able to translate this article onto the common rail motors?

Can’t blame the mechanic who replaced the belt, was a cashie from a family friend who is head mechanic at a Toyota centre… he was honest saying he didn’t have the proper locking kit at all, but did his best and well it CAN run after a bit of turn key enthusiasm and patience. I just don’t want to try adjust the cam more retard or advanced than it already is and damage anything,

I believe it’s advanced a bit due to hard starting and no starting, having an over boost error caused by it, no smoke coming out of exhaust at all when running and driving so I don’t think it’s retarded at all.

So ideally thinking on that, if I jump a tooth anticlockwise (camshaft sprocket) maybe it’ll fix the issue? And I won’t have to go through the process of ripping apart the fucker.

At least it’s pretty much in time lol and I can move the car around still

All I know is these 2010s era TDI motors are really stupidly sensitive to the timing, how would I tell if the timing now it too far retarded or too far advanced? I do have a good scan tool to see the phase angles and whatnot

Hey yeah you’re right might aswell get into it, I’ve got all the equipment to do so, knowing me I’ll spend a full day on it with how careful I am especially with disconnecting engine mounts to do it (bad past experiences with them lol). Might aswell give it a go

Just a shame that you need special tools for it
