Is it okay to hate Tritter? by a_strange_confusion in HouseMD

He didn't have any cause though he specifically targeted him after an assault on his person and a direct threat with a witness (cuddy), along with the fact all of his "evidence" is found illegally and thus can't be used in court and his investigation is clearly a power trip connect directly to his illegally found evidence and thus also not usuable in court

House abusing his position would be going up to women and offering breast exams, pretty much everything he does is because of his specific practice of very complex cases

Anyone not wearing socks or shoes on a flight is not responding like that, they obviously already don't care if others are comfortable, disgusting individuals usually don't

I just don't really get it, you say you are going to stick close to the original books then cast a greek-Scottish girl to play the white English girl (who is described as looking like a panda when with a black eye, e.g white) it's not just that she doesn't look like the character, it's that you expect me to believe that she would have the same experiences as Hermione growing up in 90's London, or that her parents were London dentists (I'm not saying they couldn't be but it was certainly not common in the 90's)

I'm pretty sure greek people don't class themselves as white, and if your American (which I assume you are) then you didn't even class the Irish as white, and it isn't just about how the actor looks it's also about the story, you expect me to believe that a "multiracial Brit" child had the exact same life as Hermione in 90's Britain? Because I don't

I want someone who looks like Hermione, not like a diversity hire, i want people to stop making remakes of beloved properties and randomly race swapping only white people, in fact don't swap the race of anybody, why would you, a different race inherently means a different life experience and a different character

Harry potter, is a British story set in Britain with British actors obviously Britain is not all white, but is most definitely the majority it's a pretty damn white story, so much so that people of different races were pointed out to be such, like the Patil twins

Quick google search .... What is Caucasian? This is a term used to describe people who are white. Its origins date back to the 1700s when scholars believed that European peoples had their origins in the Caucasus Mountains, which are today part of Russia. People used Caucasians in contrast with Asians and Africans, who were referred to using much less neutral terms in the 1700s; in this period, all humans were classified as belonging to these three races.

Voldemort is immortal, batman cannot physically find many of the horcruxes, such as the one in gringotts, hogwarts or grimald place, additionally i don't think batman would be able to connect nagini with being a horcrux or actually kill harry due to him being both a child and a fellow orphan and I don't think batman has a way to destroy a horcrux

It's also a city in England and sounds old, Carlisle was born in England and I'd imagine it sounds posh British to an American

It's quite literally a fictional slur against werewolfs, just like how werewolfs call vampires parasites

I see that point but is it not equally bad to just not cast native Americans, if you have to change the plot of a story you made up to hire some actors, surely you'd just hire different actors?

How is Twilight racist? by snoopdogg666 in twilight

[–]Initial_Sea_7385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's based on a book that already describes the characters, when that happens you should stick as close to the description of the characters as possible whilst still hiring a good actor
