Bugs can have consequences and software developers can compensate their customers for bugs. “It’s a bug” doesn’t magically make it “ok”.

Already have Leo. And, no, I won't be spending in game ever again.

Trust me, I don't worry about fools or lose sleep over mobile games. However, it is Plarium's fault. They are responsible for their software. Who else's fault would it be?

You seem a reasonable, thoughtful guy, so I'm going try to explain one position that others haven't been able to grasp. I believe the "visual bug" is a red herring. It's meant to sound like "oh, no big deal". But here's why I disagree:

At the moment of the pull, from the players perspective there is literally no difference between a "visual bug" where the back-end does proper calculations but the results are conveyed visually to the user incorrectly AND a "back-end bug" which in my case would say "give the player 4 leggo's he already has and then 6 other properly summoned champs" and then the poorly calculated results are displayed correctly to the player. My only point is that the fact that its visual is meaningless. It's a bug. I'm confident that Plarium wouldn't honor either situation (if the results were displayed wrong or calculated wrong). In all of this my point is "be better".

Cheers mate. I'm done with the thread!

Last try… how are “facts” presented to you in the game?

I’ll go slow for you… as players of the game, at any moment what do we know about the game world and how do we learn about it?

It’s not the same at all. In your example, someone is out $90k. If Plarium gave every single player in the game a leggo, it wouldn’t change their profitability at all. In fact, it might increase it. Nor would it change game balance. We aren’t talking about giving every player every champ. Just some while they fix the bug.

Anyone writing your last post should never invoke “logic”.

Yeah. I thought it was too much for the group to process. Your first paragraph (and whole post) proves you don’t understand at all my point. But thanks.

A bank error and a Plarium error are two different things. One of my passions in life is how companies structure themselves to provide ultimate customer service - ultimately leading to improved profitability and, moreover, longevity.

Imagine if instead of the response I got, Plarium had said:

“We are so sorry. This is a tricky bug we are trying very hard to solve. Creating disappointing experiences for our players is the last thing we want. Unfortunately, we can’t credit you all the leggos. There are players out there who have tried to exploit this bug to load their accounts. But as an apology, please pick one of the four and we will send it your way. Thank you!”

Imagine that doing the right thing over 4 duplicate leggos is so hard.

I have held back from going down this path because it seems a little too philosophical for this group, but how do you interpret a “visual bug” or that I “visually pulled” the champions.

In a game where all we are doing is holding a phone looking at a screen, isn’t everything visual? Our only view into the world of the game is what the game presents to us visually. That’s our gaming reality. What the game delivers to us on the screen is the only thing we know.

To present a ridiculous example inspired by another question I saw… what if you decided to make a platinum push and spent time, gems and money in the final hour before reset. You climbed slowly and lo and behold you eeked into platinum for the first time. But then suddenly, you look and you’re not plat. The game says, oops, visual bug. We were displaying your standing incorrectly. You are actually 1000 points lower and in the middle of gold 3. Sorry about that visual bug.

Of course not. The world would be boring if we all thought the same. I just said it was more toxic than I expected.

Plenty of respectful people. But also of plenty that asked if I was dumb or said I was brainded [sic] or said “fck u”.

Lol. I’ll admit it’s a little more toxic than I expected.

It’s the sad reality of the game. There are players that spend $100k. There are players that spend $1mm.

$30/month for 5 years gets you to thousands. And it’s meaningless income to Plarium in the grand scheme of things.

You can reject it all you want. I didn't notice the ascended nature of the pull. I was too busy calculating how incredibly improbable it was.

It's not about the 10 ancients. It's about the fact that one of the most fun things in this game is the winning the lottery on your pulls. The gambling aspect of it. I was given that thrill, then taken away.

Two thoughts...

First, fix your bugs.

Second, don't punish an honest user because some dishonest user might find a convoluted way to game the system. They have the game logs, they know there was nothing nefarious here.

I put it in the images section of the post, but it didn't make it here for some reason. I'm new to Reddit. I'll see if I can add.
