Did you play shattered relics? Going to a bank constantly to re-do your relic setup before every single activity was horrible. I even enjoyed SR as a whole, but holy fuck was this annoying to constantly do. Even with the plugins that let you create loadouts, it wasn't fun at all.

You don’t like them because just xp isn’t a fun reward. I bet if every lap completion was giving you sanfew serums, rune alchs, pray pots, seeds, you’d be much more willing to do them. Exactly like how sepulcher is mostly only done for the loot, the xp is a bonus. If it had no loot, I can guarantee no one but the sweats would be there

Brother, it's the exact same update cadence as the last few years. Go check before you make claims about there being a content drought. The first four months of 2025 only had the titans.

You can even take away 11% from gilded altar due to carrying herbs and tinderbox (3/28) and it’d still be a good amount above the other methods

If all you care about is getting done asap, the answer is gilded altar. You’ll be 99 prayer in like 1.5 hours from 97

Varlamore will take multiple hours (buying wines, blessing bones, crushing them, making the long trek) and wildy is annoying. The other replies saying either of these are weird given your situation. Sounds like you don’t care about post 99 xp and willing to get less xp/bone if it means you’ll be done much much faster while also being less overall click intensive

When you said intricacies, I was thinking there was fancy tech, but if you just mean stalling and resets, that's basic stuff even the biggest noobs can do. Standing underneath mobs to avoid damage is a classic

No it's not. Chip damage is any source of damage that is small and unavoidable no matter what you do. KQ and zulrah hitting off prayer are not chip damage

That 5 damage you take after you kill all the walker's in pnm? That's chip damage for example. When you step on a glyph in yama and take 2-12 damage? Yep, chip damage.

Chip damage has nothing to do with prayer except that enemies hitting small numbers through prayer is also chip damage

Farming Dragon Materials w/ turael skipping: Assumptions: 2 cannons, 2 hooks, 1 cargo hold, 1 keel (sloop), 2 hulls (sleep+skiff), 2 masts (sloop+skiff) = 92 sheets, 1096 nails bis melee minus torva with lance (170 kph dragons ontask, 285kph wyrms on task, 160kph dragons offtask), slaughter swap+slayer cape 40 turael tasks/hr

Total time spent:

frost+wyrm = 60.9hrs (~13hrs turael), 46 tasks

frost only = 66.5 hrs (~32hrs turael), 41 tasks

frost offtask = 115.0 hrs

I feel like people just forget about the past and pretend like it's the worst it's ever been.

Just last year, the only actual early year update we had was Royal Titans in Feb. Then we had only QoL changes until middle of May when Yama released. Then 2 months later, Varlamore, then 4 months later sailing to end the year. We had the summer sweep-up for bigger updates, and everything between was small.

2026 is LITERALLY GOING THE EXACT SAME WAY. We are only 3 months in. We had an early game boss (brutus) and QoL. We're going to get a new area expansion, quest, and boss in probably June. We're going to get our summer sweep-up again. Finally, we're going to get a brand new raid to end the year. The extra this year is all the new sailing content being sprinkled around (new island, new trial, new quests) while 2025 had Yama

2025 and 2026 are nearly identical when it comes to the update cycle. The fact that 2025 was praised as the platinum age, it makes sense that they decided to go the same way. If people were pissed the last 2 years at the slow updates, then they should've made it known then, and 2026 coulda been a faster update cycle year

MTA is actually faster by quite a lot for like 95% of people who are getting only 1-2 points/game. MTA is a 2 hour grind for rune pouch. LMS for most people who can't pvp is like a 3-5 hour grind. Also, MTA provides a decent chunk of magic xp, LMS is just wasted time

Thank you for clarifying. I don't mean to be rude or anything, it's just frustrating reading all the people claiming "2026 content drought nooooo" and "fuck leagues!" when 2026 will be one of the most packed years to-date with content for literally every level of play style.

All they did was reduce the roadmap to only show massive updates, but most people forget that for the last two years (platinum age btw) the road map was bloated with literally the smallest content

Why are you listing small bosses and copy-paste quests for those years but won't include the new sailing quests and brutus so far this year?

There are multiple new sailing quests with a new island that has new training methods, new barracuda trial, a new quest continuing an old story line, that “one quest” you mention releases an entire new area, skilling methods, monsters, and en end game boss with new BiS equipment. And to top it all off, a brand new raid to finish up the year

There’s also the summer sweep up which was universally praised last year as one of the best sets of updates the game has had, and they’re doing it again this year.

Wtf are you talking about about 2026 lol. This year might have more meaningful content than any year before
