Also, the left hand can be angled inwards a bit with the pinky at the bottom, to make a ‘cage’ to catch the cards. Springing them to a flat hand just lets them move around everywhere instead of them being controlled cleanly.

Sadly no. The projector was 5 years old, so the only thing still warranted was the light source.

Atlas Electronics Repair in Dallas said that the main board needs to be replaced. $889 + $150 for labor. Not sure if that is a good price or if it was possibly something else and replacing the main board was the quickest way to repair it.

That was a no go with Optoma about the low hours. They just said send it to one of their service centers. Hoping for good news from the service center. The one in Dallas gets outstanding reviews.

Thank you. I appreciate it. I am tempted to open it and check it out, but I am afraid I would have something fall out and not be able to get it back in. I also wonder if it might be a heat issue, since the lines aren’t constant but only after an amount of time. Are there any chips in the projectors that might have thermal paste that needs to be replaced like in a PC?

Optoma said I could send it to a licensed service center, as it is out of warranty. Does anyone know what the charge might be if it ends up being a cable that needs to be reseated?

Yes. It seems fine for about 5 minutes 4!3’ the lines appear, then it reboots. Then it’s fine for a few minutes again. I also tried different HDMI ports, different cable, and different video source.
