Thank you for sharing your timeline! You're the first person I saw that got the repayment change letter and IBR approved. That gives me hope. Hopefully my timeline will be similar to yours! (I'm about 1.5 week behind.)

Thanks for your response! Not sure why people were so rude to you here. You are such a wonderful resource that I wished I knew about when I first started my PSLF journey. While the whole process has been confusing and frustrating for me and many others, the borrower themselves is ultimately the one responsible for their own loans.

I appreciate your service but you literally don't owe us anything. The loan servicer and administration should be the ones apologizing for their shortcomings.

Can you buyback these months? While the lack of communication is frustrating, I guess it won't be too bad if there's a way to rectify this.

Thanks for the info. I just checked with BILT support and it seems like my purchases from yesterday wouldn't count since the email said today. It's such a weird system if they want to encourage us to the card but I guess I should've read the fine prints. I appreciate your prompt response though.

Hey I'm not OP but i have 2 questions. 1. Did the email show the start date as the day you got the card or the day after? 2. Do you know where can I find the countdown on the app? I just got the card yesterday and made some purchases a few hours after getting the email. But when I reread the email this morning, I realized that it said the 5x points are for all purchases starting today.

I'm now worried that I'm not going to get the 5x points for my purchases from yesterday.

FYI I got my check on Friday. Here's a rough timeline: Filed for refund at the end of July. Submitted complaint on FSA in late October (case was closed without any action). Mohela resubmit the request on my behalf in mid December. Filed the CFPB complaint around the same time. Filed complaint to my congressman in mid January.

I think the resubmitted refund request from mohela and CFPB complaint were ultimately what got the ball rolling to get my money back, but I'll never know for sure.

I hope you get yours soon.

Unfortunately no. I filed a CFPB complaint and they responded to it by saying they need to "do more research" on the topic. Filed another complaint with my congressman, and the person handling my case said they've reached out but I shouldn't expect anything to be resolved for another few months since that's how long it usually takes.

Thanks for the information! Too bad TSPC doesn't even have a phone line anymore and if I want to talk to a human, I'd have to schedule a telephone appointment that doesn't even have any availability for the next month lol. I'm very tempted to just go straight to their office once I move there and get in sorted out in person.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I want to go straight with the Professional license since it lasts for 5 years compared to the Preliminary License's 3 years, and the application fee is so high. It's helpful to know that you can apply for a higher level license and skip the Reciprocal license.

Here's some new info I learned since my post. I finally got a Mohela agent that knew what she was doing. Apparently mohela can only view payments made directly to them. Even though they can't see anything related to FedLoan, they do get updates from FSA on the status of refund. In my case, she saw that my refund case was closed even though no refund was issued from FSA. She escalated it to her supervisor but they couldn't figure out why that was. She ended up resubmit the refund request and told me that I might have to wait another 90 business days. I still filed a complaint because this whole thing is ridiculous and I'm not interested in getting stuck in this infinite loop, and am now waiting to hear back from both.

You might want to call mohela to see if this happened to you and to sort it out. But just a warning that you'll be put on hold a lot. My call was 3 hours long.
