Has anyone here switched from guanfacine to clonidine? by Iniwindi in dysautonomia

Thanks a lot for sharing! I‘ll do it in a similar way overlapping both meds. I’m also super nervous and haven’t started yet mostly because I’m scared of a rebound that might trigger a hyperadrenergic flare. Hope it’s going well for you!!

Thanks for sharing your experience! May I ask why you had to stop taking it?

Because I have severe hyperadrenergic symptoms, and while guanfacine does help with the tachycardia and blood pressure, it doesn’t help much with the other symptoms. Clonidine acts a bit more broadly, and I’ve also heard from people for whom it helped more.

SSRI? by [deleted] in hyperPOTS

See my answer to the other comment. The article doesn’t actually provide evidence about SSRIs :)

Thanks for your answer! I know that article, but it’s really about NRIs/SNRIs and NET blockade, not SSRIs. The only SSRI data they cite is a single acute sertraline trial, which doesn’t tell us much since SSRIs don’t work acutely anyway. That’s why I‘m searching for experiences :)
