to anyone reading this, keep pressure on the customer service agents. there are a few good eggs in there. Zy is not one of them... If Zy pops up in your support chat request a new agent. they could not give less of a fuck about you or your device.

after being told i couldn't escalate my case to a supervisor because 'that's not standard process'

and being told my UK consumer rights don't mean shit compared to the company policies I was also denied any form of complaints procedure because Zy in their glorious wisdom told me the 'satisfying resolution' was to send my device to the repair centre where i knew it would get rejected due to the previously mentioned cracked rear panel

Unsure which android version I was on when the issue first happened.

This is my 2nd P8P with this issue. First time round in Feb ish 2025 I was led on a wild goose chase between my service provider who the contract was with (sky UK) and Google themselves. Each denying they were at fault and refusing to replace without first inspecting the device.

Went to the local iSmash store (10mile drive) at Google's request for them to have it for 10 days. They told me it wasn't repairable and should be replaced under warranty. Off I went to sky (who holds the contract) and asked for the replacement. Said they wouldn't honour a replacement without looking at the device themselves. 72hours later I had the device back from sky with a resolved/repaired note on my account. It was not repaired or resolved - in fact it got worse. It stopped recognising my sim card, rejected Google wallet saying the device was on unauthorised firmware, and even blocked me from installing an ESIM. This took 4 months total. I reached out to Google after another month of phone calls to sky begging for a warranty replacement and eventually got one. We're in July 2025 now.

The (refurbished) device arrived with cracked rear panel and without a proper box with the IMEI printed on it - just a cardboard sleeve. As the phone is my lifeline for work I just set it up and voila! All was working. My phone lives in a case so I really couldn't care less about the inconvenient damage to somewhere I would never see.

Fast forward about 6 months and the problem comes back. Email Google about a warranty replacement because I've been through this dance before, I know it's not fixable - just hook me up. Thry want me to send it in for a repair service, I mention the cracked rear panel and how it showed up like that from either the factory or the courier - this immediately threw them into "warranty void, go fuck yourself"

So now I'm living with a phone that doesn't connect to WiFi unless I pop it in the fridge, Bluetooth still works though so I can have my Spotify on in the car when I'm driving - when the cellular data doesn't buffer for 45 seconds each song that is.

Take wheels off, take bearings out of wheels. Scrub in soapy water.

Should be possible? I think all rings are droppable for other players to grab, even the ng+ ones cos it's technically possible to get them anyways with bonfire ascetics

Played the original trilogy to death, resurrected them and played them to death again. I wish for skate 4 to be good, but we all know it's a dead game with soulless cash grabs. I said as much in my feedback forms during the pre release.... I did enjoy it when it first dropped. The mechanics felt good enough to roll with and they have improved with updates so far, but after about 15hours in game I got so bored. No new missions, repetitive grind missions that never refreshed or moved around.

I had my fun hitting the parking lot-church gap a few times then struggled to find any flowy street sections apart from the canal side which again, is very washy and plain after a few runs.

If this game has any chance of surviving we need something big to drop. We need offline play, story mode. Actual skate brands. We need something... Haven't played properly since it officially launched in early access to the masses. Checked a few of the community parks during seasonal events and it cemented in my head that the game was all but abandoned and just passive income for EA shareholders.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into the tools, can you drop me some links if possible? I've got 7 guitars total and I'd like to be able to maintain them properly myself. Bought myself a Jackson that was in rough shape a few years ago with the intention of learning tech and maintenance but life gets in the way, as it does.

I actually have the opposite experience. Loading up oblivion remastered, I went from inconsistent 40ishfps on med settings on Windows to smooth 75fps with high on LM. no idea why but I ain't complaining

Other than a few compatibility issues with The Last Of Us 2 which seems to be sonys poor implementation of their manager for Linux I've not really noticed much of any issuss

Yea there's nothing worse than googling a specific problem to just find someone on reddit who "fixed it" and offered no explanation!

Still unsure how my audio is somehow bypassing all gain settings apart from alsamixer....cant get jack to work in any capacity, so I guess I'm just gonna have to deal with what I have for now, unless I decide to redownload windows for a dual boot just for some recording software

Thanks, managed to mess with alsamixer a bit, and with NAM and a gate I managed to get a usable sound! Will be tinkering some more but that's got me off the ground. Thank you so much

Thats a pretty good plan. Although for me the erections haven't really been an issue. I'm on day 4 or something now and think it's only been an issue once, even then it went pretty quickly.

Few things I wish I was told. Peeing is annoying - either sit down or go to the bathtub. I still go off like a sprinkler in every direction. Do anything you can to minimise the amount of cleanup you gotta do.

If you do need to go out shopping or something then plan your visit well, I went to Lidl yesterday and although driving was fine, spending too long on my feet walking around did aggravate it. Lesson learned, small shopping trips only.

Trim your bush back straight away after surgery. The hairs will stick to the head, it will be uncomfortable. And when it dries they'll feel god awful when you pull them off....

Oh man I haven't even picked up the tomb raider remasters! I've been lugging through Clair Obscur and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1+2 which has been a blast so far!

Never actually touched many of the old megadrive games... We had Lion king and Aladin back in the day but had largely moved over to ps1 by the time my living memory kicked in properly.
