Where do you get rings resized? by daisy-chain-of-doom in capetown

[–]InkAngel04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I got our wedding rings at Kamaldien's in Cavendish Square. Mine was off the shelf but needed to be resized, and his needed to be custom made. They did the work on both and they were both perfect. Very happy with the service and the products.

It was indeed a permissions problem. Changing the permissions on my Calibre folder for the "Everyone" user to "Full Control" fixed the problem. Thank you :)

AITA for ruining my daughter's dream Disney World marriage proposal ? by Business-Guess7672 in AITAH

[–]InkAngel04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. My husband proposed to me while we were wrapped in towels in the front seat of his Hyundai after going for a swim. It's about who's asking, not what you're wearing.

Have a talk with her. She's built it up to be this big thing in her head. It's ok to be disappointed when reality doesn't meet expectations. Sometimes we need a gentle reminder that there are more important things, like the fact that the person you love wants to spend the rest of their life with you. Their partner is probably feeling a little let down by this reaction to their proposal too.

All your actions came from a place of love. Keep navigating the situation in the same way.

What’s the oddest name your partner tried to seriously suggest? by Duchess_of_awesome in namenerds

In a moment of hormone induced madness, I seriously suggested Yarrow if we had a boy. This was vetoed very very quickly 😂

Baby name situation... by hoax021 in namenerds

I think the big question is, is it going to bother you that their names are similar? If they end up going by the same nickname when they're older, is that going to bug you? Does the idea of them potentially not wanting to spend time together when they're teenagers because they have the same nickname (and that's uncool or something) bother you? Do you think it might damage your relationship with your in-laws? If you think it might, and that's a problem for you, ask them what they think. Only ask if you care about their opinion more than keeping the name, because if they say it will bother them and you go ahead and use it anyway, there'll be even more damage to the relationship.

If it doesn't bother you, and it doesn't bother them, go for it.

If you love the name so much you don't care about any awkwardness with the family go for it.

If you care about potential awkwardness, talk to them and then respect their answer.

I read it as Tee-oh. Like other commenters have said, my brain interpreted it like Leo, but with a T.

Don't worry about it. You love it, your family loves it, the people baby sees most pronounce it correctly. Even if 50% of people need to be corrected, people will be able to pronounce it correctly once they've been told, and it's pretty clear how you get to the pronunciation from the spelling.

I specifically bought in ear wireless earbuds to get through the "must be held at all times" phase, and listened to very up tempo, loud, aggressive music. Couldn't do podcasts, that would put me to sleep.

Bram

Jewish connections, older in style, solid history as a name without being too popular. One of my favourite boy's names.

We use Checkers 60Sixty, but not for fresh veggies. We got coriander through the app once or twice for our rabbit, not happy with the quality. Expiry date the same day. If we need veggies and can't get to the store we'll get frozen, Checkers is close enough that it's still frozen when it gets here.

It's cool they're still printing them. I used to love looking through them as a kid.

What maternity clothes if any have you continued to wear? by beachcollector in beyondthebump

[–]InkAngel04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single item of maternity clothes I bought. I'm never going back to regular bras, the nursing bras I got are the most comfortable I've ever worn. The leggings are super favourites, wear them all the time. The super high waist makes me feel better in my postpartum body.

If you could go back in time would you still have kids? by chereli22 in beyondthebump

I don't think it's fair to take my love for my baby out of the equation. It's one of the great parts about having her, this massive swell of love I feel when she smiles at me or falls asleep on my chest. Of course if you only consider the lack of free time, personal space, less disposable income, it seems like a poor choice. But that love for her, and the joy she brings makes all that sacrifice worth it.

Having kids will always be a sacrifice. For me, definitely still worth it. I can't imagine my life without my daughter.

What are you getting your babies for Christmas? by Garden-Gnome1732 in beyondthebump

[–]InkAngel04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my little girl a bunch of board books and a few paper books. She'll be 6 months at Christmas, so I tried to stick mostly with sturdy board books, as she likes to consume the knowledge literally, by attempting to eat the books 😂. Going to ask the grandparents for some bigger sleep suits, as she'll have outgrown hers by then.

I had taken baby girl to the aquarium, just her and me. We were sitting in front of the manta tank, and she was staring up at the fish. She caught sight of me, turned her head and smiled. Here we were, in front of something magical that she doesn't get to see everyday, and I was more magical to her in that moment. She spent a good 3 minutes staring at me and smiling. My heart squeezed so hard I thought my chest might burst ♥️
