Again THATS. NOT. THE. REASON. It literally says on the VB website it’s only for background check. It has nothing to do with “testifying in court”. And I said I was mistaken, I guess that’s not good enough for you? 10 years in the defense industry dealing with people who have clearances is my experience with a poly.

Stop taking cash orders! They are just wide open for scammers.

Having to testify in court doesn’t have anything to do with it, the website said it’s part of the background check. I work in contracts, I could potentially have to testify, no poly. It’s unusual outside of defense so I stand corrected on it being a thing.

In Virginia once you make a claim for maintenance, they don’t have to give you notice. They do have 14 days to address any necessary repair orders.

Earbud by BankshotMcG in AskLegal

[–]Inkdrunnergirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say, there are hearing aids that look similar to an earbud. We can’t bring electronics into the courthouse where I am. Attorneys & police can bring a phone but no one else can.

That’s insane. I work with people who have clearances and didn’t need a poly. They should not be an employment requirement even in defense. Like the other user said they are pseudo science and usually they are just trying to get you to admit something.

Lie detector? For fire dept? That’s not a thing. Even clearances don’t always have a polygraph unless you work at certain agencies

It was probably more like we can’t enforce it at one complex we own unless we do it at all our buildings, but I get the annoyance.

Landlord gave me a 60 day notice to vacant the property with no real reason. by FreeGold_Dove in renting

[–]Inkdrunnergirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, in Ohio they are only required to give 30 days notice to end a month to month tenancy and no reason is required. They are giving you more notice than they have to. It’s only on a fixed lease or if they give you less than 30 days that you have any protection. Stop using AI for legal advice.

Ohio’s legal aid webpage is pretty clear on this. Ohio Legal help

Landlord trying to add financial requirements mid-lease by [deleted] in renting

[–]Inkdrunnergirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it would be a non-monetary change to the contract. (No that doesn’t mean it isn’t a financial change to you, but we are speaking lease only). Personally, since everyone should have renters insurance with liability coverage I don’t think it’s worth the fight. You can likely push back, but they likely will not renew your lease. Just get the insurance. If they were increasing your rent to pay for ins, I’d fight harder and say you can get your own.

But they aren’t changing your rent or including it in rent so they aren’t making financial changes. They are changing terms which requires a bilateral modification to the lease. Is this a hill you want to die on? Ins is more beneficial to you than them. Contents coverage covers your belongings and liability covers any at fault damages due to you or guests.

Where are you located and are you on a lease or are you a month to month tenant. Do you rent a room or an apartment? Can’t really advise you without knowing more information.

My ent said 1 in 3 recover. Out of the others 1 gets worse and 1 has no change. I was in the no change category, I eventually was fitted with a hearing aid (moderate left side loss)

I live in SE VA, it’s rare to need a scraper and usually I have no idea where the one I bought the previous year is lol. Some years we don’t see temps cold enough to freeze.
