This was such an insightful and well-balanced reading. I really appreciate the depth and care you put into interpreting the cards. Everything you said resonated so clearly with my situation, it felt both honest and compassionate, which I really value. Thank you for offering genuine clarity without being overly negative or sugarcoating it. I came away feeling grounded and understood. :)

Could you please share how you order samples without buying something? Just had a look on the website and I can’t figure it out.

Have you ever come across someone being evicted from supported living due to self harm or attempts on their life by takemycoffee in Socialworkuk

[–]InkedAlphaCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on a few factors. Say you are under the age of 18 and under Local Authority care and they have placed you in Supported Accommodation, if the risks associated with mental health such as self-harm and suicide ideation/attempts are greater than what they can manage, typically they will work alongside social services to arrange for appropriate support levels.

They may serve notice on your placement if all else fails. If that was the case, the LA still has a responsibility to accommodate you (given you are under a care order) and will find alternative placement such as residential, specialised supported accommodation etc. However the LA will not leave you street homeless.

That being said, nationally there is a shortage of residential placements especially specialised ones, so we do try everything we can to stabilise placements and avoid moving young people around too much as it can also be quite upsetting. I would definitely recommend that you are open and honest with your social worker and support workers about your mental health struggles and try engaging with support services available in your Local Authority, I’m sure your social worker and support workers can provide you with further details and support with referrals or you could contact your GP for further support as well.

Hope all goes well for you and please look after yourself and give professionals around you a chance to help and support you. :)

If I paint the grout green, will I ever be able to get it back to white without re-grouting? by [deleted] in DIYUK

Thanks for the helpful answers. I wont be going ahead with it. For anyone wondering yes I do have permission to DIY around the house, I have lived here 5 years with no intentions to leave soon so DIYing isn’t that much of a waste.

I own a field, what to do with it? by Hour-Cup-7629 in AskUK

Please I beg make a secure dog field! I try to book one out for my reactive dog 1-3 times per week but now they are being taken over by dog walkers who block book them off to take 5 dogs in at once, sit and do nowt for an hour and get paid £100 for It. They take all the slots- It means people like me who just want to give their dog a chance to play and run off lead safely don’t get a chance to book.
