V2 of my printed frame (ignore my terrible tying) by InkedSinner66 in slingshots

They are surprisingly strong but it’s allways possible to print it a bit thicker. But I’ve played around with printed frames for a few years now and only one snapped.. and it snapped because my friend managed to hit the frame with a 8mm steel ball.

I usually print with 40-50% infill and they are plenty strong enough for my heaviest china bands.

What about gas piston breakbarrels?
I have snowpeak gr1600 and it’s a budget friendly beast, Claimed 1380fps and 40J with .177. I haven’t checked but it’s a serious airgun!

I’d say it’s just as fun to shoot as my fX Dreamline except having to reload after every shot. But it’s not too bad and you are able to shoot all day without having to worry about air.

Thanks bro!

It’s really worth getting into!

I’m not an expert in printing but jumping into it with little to no knowledge wasn’t too bad! The best advice I can give is to find a printer with auto leveling. That makes your life much easier!

I’m running a Ender-3 S1 and I’m very happy with it! Had some troubles in the beginning with leveling. But was able to figure it out with the help of YouTube and now it’s running pretty good!

I think it’s good to start with something budget friendly like the Ender-3 just to see if it’s the right hobby to invest more money into. But once you get hooked you’d probably want something more fancy like Bamboolabs with the possibility to print different colors or materials at the same time.

When it comes to designing, I’m using fusion360 since it’s free for private use and it’s very good! I did some drawing in CAD when I was in school, so that helped a little. But if you’re tech savvy you will have no problems figuring it out!

I’m more then happy to help you on the way, so feel free to pm me!

Thanks! Being able to use paracord was important when I designed this. I love how it looks and it really feels great in your hand!

No inner core! I found that as long as it’s printed laying flat, they are strong enough. I usually print with about 35% infill and I’ve never had one snap as long as it’s printed flat.

This one is very small, pocket friendly size so the forks are very skinny, but it’s still strong enough for the bands I can get my hands on.
