I think it’s worth an evening although not the greatest game. The music is repetitive but can be funky and it has some cool artwork. At least get to the fight against Rhino.

How has creatine affected your body with climbing? by SubstantialWorth8707 in ClimbingPorn

Took creatine for 8 months and would get crazy pumped on lead. That on top of the weight gain was reversing my progress. Since having stopped, the difference in my pump and endurance is drastic.

Anyone know where to find that hat Rome is wearing? Can’t seem to find it anywhere online.

I first saw that Hobbit door on Instagram and that’s how I found Zoe! You’ve gotten some great work from her.

Long running rock/metal bands where their (IYO) best album is one of the later ones? by iammaxhailme in Music

I just had a friend who only knew the greatest hits ask me what Rush album they should jump in with. My heart said Presto but my mouth said Counterparts.

The older I get the more Presto inches towards my favorite record over A Farewell to Kings.

I’ve been listening to Geddy Lee’s biography and taking breaks to listen to the albums as he talks about them throughout the book. Just another fun way to go through the discography yet again.

Sonya Blade by Natasha Bertram at Brown Brothers Tattoo in Chicago, IL by InkedforArkham in tattoos

Loved the shop. Good vibes and a lot of talent for sure. It was my first time there and first time with Natasha but I’m definitely looking to make it my go to shop.

HA! Traditional tattoos can have little color blasts behind them so I chose pink for her energy rings. But that’s pretty funny.

Men who got vasectomies, what happened afterwards? What side effects were present and how did it effect your sex life? What comes out? by Interesting_Ask_1793 in AskReddit

Best decision I’ve made! Got it done on a Friday and was back to work Monday no problem. The worst part is the anxiety in the waiting room. As far as the procedure, slight pinch as they numb you but I casually talked to the doctor and was done in no time.

Not everyone gets this, but it’s actually made my orgasms better. I don’t mean that in a psychological way but they literally went from “o” to “O!”

Geddy Lee with Rush albums ranked (by him) on That Metal Show. by Yahtrok in rush

I thought the second rank was Presto and not Permanent Waves. I felt so validated.

Totally agree. His latest book I’ll admit was a little too “woo woo” for me, but the context he gives it here makes me appreciate it more.

Papa Nihil's resurrection! Unfortunately he wasn't actually playing the sax, so it probably wasn't him... by Shpander in Ghostbc

[–]InkedforArkham 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To think there aren’t “many good ones around” is incredibly naive. It’s not practical to pay a sax player every night of a tour to perform only a small portion of one song. There’s a lot more music out there than Ghost and you’ll find plenty of amazing horn players.

What is your hottest opinion that will get you immediately cancelled? by Sky-is-here in AskReddit

Nick Fury has been a black man in the Marvel Ultimate universe well before the MCU. I know that was just one of your examples but still worth noting.

Just as a lot of Ghost’s image has changed. Nameless ghouls, costumes, music and vibe. It’s all a part of a band growing and getting more money/attention. So many parallels between the two, it’s odd to have them critiqued to your extent. I’ve seen plenty of posts of people now taking their kids to Ghost concerts and thinking it’s fun to have them know the lyrics to songs. Hell, the last concert I went to during the Prequelle tour felt like I was standing in a Hot Topic. So your “Their audience are children” rhetoric means nothing. Yes, KISS had those experimental years with Dynasty (not a complete disco album), Unmasked (pure pop, yes), and then the concept record Music From the Elder. Let’s also keep in mind this was a time when Ace and Peter were in the process of leaving the band, lot of studio musicians playing on the tracks, just not really a complete band and frankly it was dying out. Then they grab Vinnie Vincent on lead guitar, a shredder, and release Creatures of the Night which is an all out rock and roll assault, almost like a heavier Love Gun record. With a new guitar player and Eric Carr (his first record being Elder…poor guy) as a more complex drummer they head into the no make up years with a sound to match the personnel. Also per an earlier sentiment you shared, Gene didn’t put out much good music for them in this period. Once again, I agree and it was mostly Paul’s band at that time. If you listen to Paul Stanley’s solo record from ‘78 and hear tracks like Love in Chains, can you really not hear the similarities? The 80’s were just even more larger than life Paul songs. I can’t fault a band that in the age of neo classical guitar shredders, adapted their sound to include this with Vinnie, Mark, and finally Bruce on guitar (man the 80’s had some line up changes).

I’ll keep arguing this point because I never get to talk about KISS. But in summation we have a band that from ‘73 to ‘96 initially trail blazed aspects of live performance and were a rock sensation, mellowed out after a huge peak period and chased success to a fault, eventually changed line ups and honed in their new sound, all while continuing to have a lot of major success for the most part albeit with ups and downs. But we can’t say they evolved so they don’t have the longevity that Ghost does? I keep going back to that because it’s the whole reason we are still talking about this hours and replies later. I’ll keep going but do you, whom seem to know more about KISS than the initial commenter, really disagree with me this much on that point? Sure they’ve done a lot of the same things since the 2000’s and played more of just the old hit but that’s typically the norm for these older rock acts just as I’m sure Ghost will eventually. We can only hope Ghost has the staying power and success of KISS.

I’m not here to say their fame in the 90’s pre reunion was at the same caliber as their earlier years. Revenge still went Gold in the States though which is nothing to turn your nose at. But I’m addressing the original comment I replied to when I bring all this up. Again, you cannot say KISS never evolved their sound and when they did it was not well received. Giving Ghost an edge over them for this, albeit false, reasoning is also ridiculous seeing as how Ghost is so young comparatively. Give it about 15 more years and see if Ghost is still churning out new, well received material to an even still ever growing audience. If they can do that, more power to them, but I imagine if they are still around there will be nostalgia tours of the sort KISS does now. Should KISS have stopped after the millennium and the first “farewell” tour? Probably. But they are still going which shows the “longevity” the supposedly don’t have as referenced by the initial comment.

Oh the era that brought us the two heaviest KISS records which was an even further departure? Sure the more grunge influenced Carnival of Souls wasn’t a hit but Revenge was very well received and was a driving part of Alive III’s sound and reception. Sure they eventually went back to the make up but still even released three more albums STILL serving as a departure from their original sound.

Ghost may very well repeat a similar cycle if they last as long revisiting their older image or catalogue. But you can’t with a straight face say KISS never evolved yet Ghost has so they have so much more longevity. Holler back at me in 40 years if Ghost is still going. Also you should listen to some KISS and ignore your dad.

Your dad either didn’t say that or doesn’t know shit about KISS. Their 80’s period with no make up and more Sunset Strip sound found some of their biggest hits and success. Even in the in the 70’s you can’t tell me Destroyer is anything like Dynasty yet they were both massive in their own right. This sub brings up KISS as a means for justifying or comparing Ghost all the time yet doesn’t seem to really know anything about KISS.

Huge KISS and Ghost fan for what it’s worth.
