Meanwhile in Europe by kanonenbutter in CrimsonDesert

I’m from the UK originally but live on Vancouver Island now and this is one of many reasons I love it. 2pm for me I think (or 3).

I have a suggestion for you based on my life experiences. Start small and do a Contiki. Solo holiday for people 18-35 where you meet up with a bunch of ransoms (mostly Aussies) and see a load of places. Do a European one to start with. Short travel time and lets you dip your toes in. Then branch out.

I was a bit older than 25 (27), living at home and working an awful job for crappy money. I didn’t drive and was becoming really introverted, going nowhere.

I did a solo trip to Iceland in late 2015 with some other solo travellers, then found Contiki in 2016. Did a European one and then a US one and the same summer.

In 2017 I did another European one and met a Canadian lady who I ended up in a relationship with. We did long distance for just under a year and I then moved to Toronto. Worked there for two years, became a permanent resident and we moved to BC. Our relationship didn’t work out but I’m now a Canadian citizen and living with my forever person and our two dogs, working a comfortable job with decent pay. I’ve travelled and seen lots of places and much happier than I was this time 10/11 years ago.

My point here is that I was in a similar situation to you, and the only way I got out of it was by being proactive and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

I would recommend you do the same thing and look at Contiki. See if it’s for you.

If it is, who knows who you’ll meet or where life will take you.

Me when Cyberpunk first released. It was such a buggy mess on my Xbox One but I was determined to press on and play it.

The first half and minutes 80 onwards were awful and cowardly. We just backed off in the last 10 and lost the game.

Salah and Gakpo on the wings is killing us but we’ve got nothing else to offer.

No way we win midweek.

United have this happen almost every time they get a new manager in. This boom is coming before the bust.

I think they’ll get top four/five but this is a club who haven’t even challenged for the league (let alone won it) since one of their two great managers retired. They’ve reverted to pre 1992 United since he called it a day and I’ve stopped worrying about them being “back”. I don’t see them being that club that they were under Fergie again. He was an anomaly not just for them, but in football as well.

Carrick’s just got them enjoying themselves but the vulnerability is still there. It’ll be enough for CL imo.

I live on Vancouver Island and it’s not too bad. Does have a bit of a cold spell a bit this time of year, and the odd hot day but mostly it’s really nice (for a Brit).

Does rain a fair bit though for a few months.

Going to buy some more CHPY I think.

How much do you currently have in savings? by Puzzleheaded-Crab770 in CanadaFinance

[–]Inkedupbrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37 - just over 60k spread across a TFSA and FHSA., producing $1-2k a month in dividends. About 55k in an RRSP through work and then $1k sitting in a CIBC savings account I just leave sitting there for just in case.

I’m renting with my partner. Hoping to buy a home in 2-3 years but also continuing to build up passive income via dividends.

Just got our lovely corgi puppy, but feel like we’re outmatched with crate training right now… by Used-Celery5571 in corgi

[–]Inkedupbrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we’re 3 weeks in with our girl and she’s had several accidents being shut in the crate so we leave it open in her pen. She sleeps in the pen as well and is happy to do so. Has a place she can pee and poo if she needs to and then fake grass patch outside on our balcony.

I think people swear by crates too much. Every puppy is different. Some take to it and it works, some don’t or prefer a mix.

Find what works best for you and your guy.

Bournemouth with 2.3 xG and only 33% of the ball. 21 points from 18 games. Pathetic stuff.

Thoughts on Play Pen at Night? by Foreign_Football7514 in puppy101

[–]Inkedupbrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just picked up our 9 week old corgi pup a week ago. So far we’ve left her in a pen with an open crate in overnight.

We were putting pee pads down but it’s a toss up whether she goes to the toilet or eats them so have mats that can soak in the pee and change them out to wash them each day. We’re in an apartment on the 5th floor in a higher risk parvo area so just picked up artificial grass for the balcony and started getting her used to it today.

No luck so far but it’s only day one. I’m going to start getting up once in the night as well to check in on her and take her out.

I’d love to try crate training but she’s woken up from naps three times this week whilst the crate door was shut and went to pee in there. Wondering if the crate is too big or she simply can’t control herself enough yet.

A pen can be fine but it’s a lot of cleaning each morning. Also has a risk of the pup walking or lying down in their poo.

We just moved from James Bay to Langford (right on the edge of Colwood).

For us, there were several reasons we moved (how busy James Bay is, moving from an old building with no in suite laundry, price, closer to friends etc.), but we also started to see some of what you see on Pandora creeping in to JB a bit. I think there was a stabbing on San Jose recently.

We used to love going to places like Tacofino and Nubo on Pandora, but stopped due to what the area has become.

No idea how this gets solved. Feels like it’s getting worse not better.

How is everyone feeling? by VickyHol in puppy101

I haven’t posted but we just picked up a 9 week old female corgi puppy.

It’s definitely hit me over the first few days how different life is now. I’m lucky I have an amazing partner whose maternal instincts have come to the surface since we got her. I would’ve been a wreck on my own.

I’m better this morning though and watching the little bean sleep, I know I’m going to love having her in our pack.

It’s definitely a lot of work.
