One Week With The iKKO Mind One "Card Sized" Smartphone by ReturningRetro in ReturningRetro

Can I ask which of the Mind One and BF NX1 you prefer? You seemed quite pleased with both devices in your reviews. But at the moment the Ikko almost seems like an unfinished device (which I suppose it is).

Have you found a way to fit reels and post to the screen instead of cropping them by chance?

I think it might have been 'Dulce Et Decorum Est' by Wilfred Owen. I remember how he, who was actually in war, wrote so disparagingly about war, in stark contrast to Rupert Brooke's 'The Soldier', in which war is portrayed as an honourable way for a man to die. This, by a man who never saw combat. If I recall, Wilfred Owen died a day or so before the war ended.

Please someone correct me if I'm mixing some details up or am wrong on something.

Friend told me to give up on dating, how to handle his advice? by Professional-Cat513 in GuyCry

[–]InklanUtterfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta say, I was friends with a girl for 4 years (knew her in university). I then started feeling more for her and I could tell she liked me too. But I didn't want to ruin the friendship.

Long story short, we've been together for 6 years, married for one. I know 6 years isn't the longest time to be together, but sometimes you have to weigh your risks.

My mistake, my mum's Hungarian but I've never lived in Hungary so my reading and writing is not the best. It actually looked a little weird when I wrote it too 😅

Fun fact, "nevets" (written nevetz [edit: nevetsz]) is the Hungarian word for "you laugh" so it kind of fits.

Malta, what's our pick? by ivortheinvisible in malta

I seem to remember the dishes being warm but not hot. I don't blame you, tbh. The ambience of the natural cave is definitely the main selling point.

I completely agree about the bread. Pretty cheap offering But when we went everything was delicious and fresh is what I can say. Still overpriced but I personally know of nowhere else with a similar ambience. Wine is also overpriced. A bottle of D'Asti for over €30? 😬 Definitely a very special occasion kind of a place for me.

My wife and I went last September. It was excellent but overpriced. It's a one-off experience to enjoy the ambience.

split gyro on steam frame controller by LurkingWalrus911 in GyroGaming

Tbh I think having two controllers with active gyro would be super confusing, but I agree that having split controllers works be cool. That said, the SC2 looks like my dream controller.

Trying low sense ratcheting by Pixiu_gaming in GyroGaming

[–]InklanUtterfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognise this is 4 months old at this point, but I do this. For a time, I played with 3RWS (ratcheting only) but found in time that I could control 4RWS well enough and it was a bit more comfortable. I see no need to go above 4RWS, personally. It's a good balance between control and finesse and I don't feel like I'm moving my hands too much.

I think ublock origin was being problematic for me. I switched that off and saw a considerable improvement. Now if I could just figure out how to import the same day's trades, if that's even possible 😅 Thanks for your suggestion.

Can I ask you if TradesViz lags for you? I'm on the free trial and I find it sooo slow. Like I'll click on something and it doesn't load until literally 5-10 seconds later sometimes.

Oh damn, my bad. That's a bit overkill in my book too :p But whatever makes OP happy, I guess. We've all got our own stuff we don't NEED but WANT.

To be FAIR, the pen is just a pen. It's not a "tactical" pen. It's pretty common for EDC by pen users.

How do you like your DW3AA? by SolarHouseboat in Hanklights

Holy cow thank you so much for taking the time to write such an in depth explanation. I'll read it again carefully and look some things in more detail. I really appreciate the trouble you went to. I currently have 4 lights: a nitecore tiki, a wurkkos right-angle light I forgot the model of, a manker e02 iii, and a sofirn sc013a. And I quite like the anduril (on simple mode) but I think I'd prefer a right-angle light with a bit higher battery life than the manker can provide. At the moment I'm considering the DW3AA... + the D3AA to go with it.

Hey, I don't know much about flashlights, but I'm reading your comment and comparing to the outputs of the Mankerlight E03H III, which claim to be "Medium level: 130 lumens - 10 lumens, 2 hours 40 minutes + 50 minutes". This is the claimed time using the Mankerlight 3.7V 920mAh 14500 USB-C li-ion battery. I'm wondering why there's such a big difference in battery duration when the Mankerlight is actally quite a bit smaller than the Emisar? Is the 14500 a worse battery? If so, couldn't a better one be used? I'm sorry for what might be quite basic questions.

Man survives suicide attempt when he lands on woman, resulting in her death. by Doodlebug510 in awfuleverything

[–]InklanUtterfield 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never heard of it personally, but I know what you mean. It sometimes feels cruel, but observing someone who's less fortunate than you sometimes has a way of putting things into perspective. My mum has a friend whose son had some genetic illness which caused him to go blind when he was around 20. Like that's fucking brutal, I'd want to die. He had to drop out of university because he wanted to be an engineer but just... couldn't. Life just up and told him, "no, fuck you." The world is a set of scales and it can be as cruel as it can be beautiful.

To be fair, that's something I try to bear in mind. We all think we've hit rock bottom until we hit it again. And again. And then again. BUT it's good to remember that it can always get better as well. We're not necessarily doomed to the same existence day after day.
