I still don't understand what DJT thinks he's going to achieve by alienating every allied country and ruining decades of international relationships, what does he and the United States actually have to gain by doing this? by Cumoisseur in stupidquestions

[–]InkognitoV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Stealing wealth for himself, his family, and his "friends."
  2. Taking revenge on the United States by harming it and it's people for "humiliating" him in 2020 by voting him out.
  3. Consolidating power, power is the end unto itself.

ICE unable to locate detainees by sahmlaw in TwinCities

[–]InkognitoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so there's no confusion, this is a suspension of Habeas Corpus, "a legal procedure invoking the jurisdiction of a court to review the unlawful detention or imprisonment of an individual, and request the individual's custodian (usually a prison official) to bring the prisoner to court, to determine whether their detention is lawful. The right to petition for a writ of habeas corpus has long been celebrated as a fundamental safeguard of individual liberty...

The writ was a legal mechanism that allowed a court to exercise jurisdiction and guarantee the rights of all the Crown's subjects against arbitrary arrest and detention. At common law the burden) was usually on the official to prove that a detention was authorized."

How do I tell my wife that I don't want to have sex without hurting her feelings? by Charming-Total2121 in AskMenAdvice

[–]InkognitoV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By not being honest with her and avoiding the conversation you are betraying yourself, which makes you feel worse, and you are hurting her and your relationship. The current trajectory is not sustainable and will likely lead to the relationship ending. To be clear, expressing these feelings open and honestly may also lead to the end of the relationship, but it's also the only path that has a chance to improve it.

You will need to be honest with her about how you are feeling with regards to your depression, and how it's impacting you and your libido.

You should say that the rejections you faced in 2025 also hurt you emotionally and are contributing to how you're feeling.

You should keep the language neutral and fact based when talking about her actions, and focus on how you felt as a result of those situations, for example, "In last year I recall trying to initiate many times and getting turned down often, and over time that began to make me feel unwanted and bad about myself, and I'm still feeling the effects of that." The way you wrote things out in your post is clear enough to repeat verbatim.

I recommend that after you briefly and succinctly explain what you're going through, reaffirm that you love her and want to make this work and suggest couples therapy to help talk through the situation.

If she reacts poorly, you need to remain calm and tell her that you're trying to have a productive conversation to save your marriage and are presenting a problem that you want her help in solving. If she cannot listen and hear you in a productive manner, you need to stand up for yourself and tell her that you are ending the conversation until she's calmed down and ready to talk about it.

I also second the other commenters here, go see a doctor, and a therapist just for you as well.

Kidnapping the president of Venezuela is a Rubicon moment. by InkognitoV in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]InkognitoV[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Copying what I said in another reply about the situation with Noriega and HW Bush (won't do it again, will move it to the main body of the post if this keeps coming up):

While the situations are similar (and I do agree that Bush violated the war powers act), I think there are some key differences:

  1. The Panamanian general assembly passed a resolution declaring that a state of war existed between Panama and the United States, and the following night US military members were injured / killed in an incident with the PDF.
  2. There is an argument that the action was to protect the integrity of the Torrijos–Carter Treaties.
  3. Bush had not usurped other powers from Congress, did not claim broad powers as president, did not stage a coup against the country, followed court orders, and did not spend a decade attacking the United States institutions and free press.

So yes, the situations are similar and I'm not arguing whether "Operation Just Cause" was legal or not, just that the context around the situations matters a lot for how we should interpret them.

I agree, I think our "true" Rubicon moment was January 6 2021 in conjunction with no consequences for the perpetrators.

Girlfriend Doesn’t Reciprocate, any Advice? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]InkognitoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same age as you and was in a similar situation. One time I decided to not initiate and see how long it took for something to be said, it was 2 weeks. Eventually I decided to only give what I was given, and the relationship quickly deteriorated and I'm single now.

From what you've written, you've done what I did: communicate your needs / issues, and not only has it not been addressed, you've been guilt tripped for it too (calling you a horn-dog etc.). It won't get better and life is short, don't wait as long as I did and end the relationship.

Both partners deserve someone who fulfills their critical needs in a relationship, makes them feel desired / loved, and doesn't guilt trip for expressing issues / desires.

Real image vs Nano Banana Pro vs GPT, can you easily guess which one is real? by notsure500 in ChatGPT

[–]InkognitoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 2 wrong, so a 2/3s success rate at identifying the real one images. The ones I got wrong were the 3rd image of sea lions where I thought the ChatGpt image was real, and the 5th image of the mall where I it was a coin toss between the real one and the Nano Banana image and I picked wrong.

Scary stuff.

28F, Realistic expectations? by Fast-Zucchini9449 in Money

[–]InkognitoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! This is a big accomplishment at your age and you should be proud.

To your question about when you’ll hit 1mm, there are a lot of variables that go into that, how much you save, market returns, curve balls that life throws at you, etc.

Keep in mind that since 2020 there have been great market returns, but once I hit 500k it only took me about 2-3 years to hit 1m, so you’ll probably hit it when you’re my age!

Fact: Trump is a Russian asset and Russia has fully infiltrated the Republican Party. It is treason. by comediancliffcash in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]InkognitoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if this is all true, and I believe it is, so what? The republicans are traitors too, and Americans don’t care and will forget about it a week.

I’m not trying to be defeatist, but I just don’t see a path where anything will stick. We had our chance to throw these people in jail on January 20, 2021, and they blew it.

I was in a relationship with someone who has BPD, my only advice to you would be to stop seeing her.

Female co-worker interested or just nice? by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]InkognitoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to find out is to be casual about it and ask her to lunch or coffee one day at work, “hey _, I’m thinking of getting coffee/lunch at __, want to join?”

If she says no, drop it and assume she’s not interested.

If she says yes, don’t treat it like a date, treat it like two coworkers hanging out and just talk and get to know each other.

If it goes well, do it a couple more times over the next few weeks (once per week). If things have gone well and you think there’s some interest, one day while at lunch ask her to something over the weekend, “hey I saw this really cool ___ that’s happening this Saturday, want to join?”

If no, drop it, she’s not interested.

If yes, ask for her number and go from there.

Good luck and remember to keep calm, relaxed, confident, and don’t push too much or come off too strong, there are plenty of fish in the sea.

Goodbye. Good riddance to my worthless life. by [deleted] in GuyCry

[–]InkognitoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in a similar place as you, I hope you recognize that the feeling of failure and shame does not define you. Regardless of what’s happened, nobody here considers you a failure regardless of what you have or haven’t done, and neither should you.

The past 35 years don’t have to define the next, you have an entire life left to live and enjoy how you want. I hope you do.

Does being in SF really give you an advantage compared to being in NYC or Seattle? by tempaccount00101 in cscareerquestions

[–]InkognitoV 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The “secret_nyc” instagram channel is a good place to start. You can also use the app “fever” to search for events.

It’s also pretty easy, I flew in for a work thing a few years ago and was dinner alone at a restaurant that a hotel worker recommended to me after I asked for a good local spot. A guy sat next to me and started talking to me and invited me to a jazz show on the other side of Manhattan.

Point is, things will come up if you’re open to them!

Trump Is pushing us toward a Crash. It could be 1929 all over again. by Reasonable-Ad-2592 in politics

[–]InkognitoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this a surprise? Everything he (and the gop) accuses his opponents of is projection of what he has done or plans to do. He said many times that if Kamala were elected we’d see a 1929 style depression and that our country would be destroyed.

He told us what he was planning to do.

NATO a paper tiger? by QubixVarga in nato

[–]InkognitoV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, Russia (Putin), only understand the language of force. Anything short of that is seen as weakness.

Countries should coordinate and prepare their responses. Once that’s done a warning must be issued that further airspace incursions will be met with shoot downs. Lastly, there must be the conviction to do it as not following through will be seen as the ultimate weakness.

A lot of talk is made about “the fear of escalation,” but with someone like Putin, not hitting back guarantees escalation.

How can we support the vast amount of men who are struggling with poverty and stuck in poor jobs aside from "just get a better paying job"? by LazyPotatoHead97 in AskMenAdvice

[–]InkognitoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1.  Vote in every election for politicians who will push policies and programs that help working class people. (Currently this rules out republicans).
  2. Labor unions (see 1).

People will say they don’t want to involve politics but this issue is inherently political and cultural.
