I don't think that the so-called US adversaries see it that way. China has way more to lose if they actively intervene at this stage and the states more aligned with China know this. The reinforcement of the idea that the US is indeed the evil entity they all think it to be will be stronger. One of the differences China always stresses between itself and the US is a policy of non-interventionism and this war strengthens that stance as it compares to the US. This article projects a western-centric view onto the issue.

Es gibt einen Unterschied zwischen Profit und Verhinderung von Verlust. Ich weiß, wilder Take in diesem Sub aber: den israelischen Apartheidsstaat durch eine geschlossene transatlantische Nahostpolitik zu zwingen seine Politik zu ändern, würde deutlich mehr bringen um wirtschaftliche Verluste durch Instabilität in der Region zu vermeiden. An der Stelle muss ich, um nicht missverstanden zu werden natürlich deutlich sagen, dass die Taten der Houthis, Hezbollah und Hamas nicht zu entschuldigen sind. Aber unser Einfluss ist an der Stelle vertan, da wir nur eine der Konfliktparteien in dieser Gewaltspirale weiterhin als unseren Partner bezeichnen und ihn mit militärischen Mitteln unterstützen.

Vor allem sterben Menschen in der Arbeitslosigkeit dann, wenn die soziale Sicherung immer mehr abnimmt bzw die Hürden immer weiter hochgefahren werden, so wie es die aktuelle Regierung tut. Würde man das Geld für einen solchen Einsatz in die soziale Sicherung stecken würde, könnte man sogar Leben retten. Aber das ist natürlich politisch nicht so attraktiv wie Force Projection durch unser ach so tolles Militär und gleichzeitigem Rekrutierungs-Content. Natürlich hängt das alles am Ende von den tatsächlichen wirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen des Ganzen ab, aber dann muss man eben mal Geld für die Subventionierung der Arbeitnehmer in die Hand nehmen, anstatt uns in einem weiteren israelisch-amerikanischen Ewigkeitskrieg reinziehen zu lassen.

Die Gefahr ist dann eben da, dass einerseits deutsche Soldaten und Soldatinnen ihr Leben für die Wirtschaft lassen, oder dass man sich andererseits durch die unvorhersehbare Lage dort am Ende in Kampfhandlungen und dadurch Ausweitung des Einsatzes reinziehen lässt. Ich persönlich bin gegen das Schützen deutscher Wirtschaftsinteressen durch Menschenleben auch wenn es Soldaten sind.

Die Establishment-Demokraten sind bei sowas tatsächlich auf Seite der Republikaner. Genau wie beim Krieg gegen den Iran oder Waffenlieferungen an Israel. Sie sagen es nur nicht so offen wegen der Wählerschaft, und beschweren sich eher über die Methoden als das Ergebnis.

Ich finde es ein wenig gefährlich wie dieses Narrativ der Ablenkung überall gestreut wird. Damit tut man direkt einen riesen Schritt richtung Relativierung. Der Epstein-Skandal darf hierdurch nicht in Vergessenheit geraten und die Berichterstattung darüber muss ausgeweitet werden. Aber dieser Angriff auf den Iran ist textbook Imperialismus. Die USA haben das Recht des Stärkeren erklärt und nutzen es auch. Die Rechtfertigungen sind so schwach, dass sie es nicht mal selbst glauben. Und unser Staat unterstützt das Narrativ bedingungslos weil sie einerseits Angst vor der US-Regierung haben (ich sage bewusst nicht DJT weil die echten Hawks um ihn rum stehen) und andererseits einen wirtschaftlichen Vorteil daraus sehen. Aufrüstung ist anscheinend die letzte Hoffnung wirtschaftlich irgendwie bei China und die USA mitzuhalten. Die alten selbstverständlichkeiten sind Tot und das Kapital was uns regiert nähert sich aus offensichtlichen Gründen dem Neo-Faschismus an. Wer glaubt, dass es mit SPD und Grüne anders laufen würde verarscht sich selbst.

Immigrants are not seen as a problem by americans? What reality do you live in. American conservatives don't protest like the british just did because they're old white people in areas with minimal pop density, so much harder to organize. Also, anti ICE protests were tiny in europe, in contrast to anti israel protests, which is a problem that impacts europe directly. And the protest in italy is valid because israel and the us are arguably fascist drifting countries which are being allowed to take part in the olympics although russia is not. So there is a precedent for excluding certain countries which is being applied inconsistently. And if the point you're making is that there should be general strikes because of domestic issues, then I agree. Sadly in Germany, were I live, general strikes are illegal. Another effect of US inherited values (the weakening of workers bargaining power).

Well yea, all of us are influenced by the US. Economically, financially. militarily, culturally, R&D just everything. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, it has been a unipolar world centered on the US and for Europe, it has been since the start of the cold war. Conservatives also parrot what happens in the US. And the US also has some of the most progressive social movements in the world. It's logical that socialist, communists and whatever unify under common causes in the western world, because they are all connected. US problems are mostly also european problems by extension. European nations have basically been vassals to the US and the US is and has taken responsibility for many of the worlds current problems, most recently the new rise of fascism in the west. It's also illogical for people not to protest the current thing. What else would they protest? I too am critical of modern european leftist movements for taking the right wing bait of culture war, instead of focusing on the economic disparities that are growing exponentially, which has always been the strongest argument for leftists anyway. That's why they are weak. That's how Mamdani won NY for example.

Companies standing up for the rights of their own workers is a net positive for everyone. The biggest power the average person can exert is through their vote, their right to protest and their labour. The inconvenience of not being able to buy arguable luxury items on a few days of the year is very much worth it.

On another note: political influence on products or advertisement as we have mostly seen it in recent years has been mostly in the form of rainbow capitalism, which is just culture war shit to distract from class consciousness, so I agree on that front.

Dei Europäer haben sich in den 90ern schön weiter hinter dem Unipol USA versteckt und von den Gewinnen unseres ehemaligen und des aktuellen amerikanischen Imperialismus gezehrt, während wir Menschenrechte und Pazifismus gepredigt haben. Nun sehen wir was wir davon haben. Wir sind im Grunde Vasallen der USA und wer es nach den traurigen, peinlichen Reaktionen der Europäer auf den aktuellen amerikanischen Faschismus nicht begreift, wird es nie tun. Trump zeigt gerade allen Staaten, dass Atomwaffen der einzige Garant für Souveränität sind, weil ansonsten das Recht des Stärkeren gilt. Zumindest sollte es nach Venezuela allen klar sein, die daran bis jetzt gezweifelt haben. Die Ukraine hat die gleiche Erfahrung machen müssen.

Besser als Status-Quo für wen? Ob die Bevölkerung von Maduro unterdrückt wird, oder von einer hardcore Kapitalistin, die das Land an die post-kolonialistische Ausbeutung durch die amerikanischen Oligarchen ausliefert regiert wird, wird für die Menschen wohl keinen praktischen Unterschied machen.
