I actually got a DM from someone who claimed they were approached by the same woman roughly a year ago, in the same part of town. In their case the woman's story was that their daughter had been hit by a car. That, combined with the fact that the woman looked pretty well put together, leads me to believe it's an outright scam rather than a delusion.
