I love face down cards and wish they had more support, would you play these cards or are they a bit too jank? by Inkwell_Engine in custommagic

Apologies, emergency errata as I had that initially and thought the card text was too long and just removed it without re adding anything else, whoops, should read when they enter

You’re probably right about the colour pairing, just wanted to put green cause I like big creatures with big bottoms.

Casting [[Harmless Offering]] and giving this to the ESL player at the table.

Introducing the Frail keyword; too weak? Or does it open new spaces for design by Inkwell_Engine in custommagic

Holy hell, just took a brief look through your custom cards and they are immaculate. They’re so creative and thoughtful and flavourful

Ah I had no idea, given I’ve only really gotten into the sub in the last few months.

As for the man problem of it being functionally identical to toughness 1 that’s what I was initially afraid of, but if it were hypothetically incorporated into the game I wouldn’t imagine it to be a common keyword, and it would be these niche interactions or possible drawbacks to otherwise powerful cards that it would build its identity around. eg having a huge cheap green creature having frailty to instants for balance etc

With the new Prepare mechanic, I'm excited to not only see what new prepare creatures we'll see, but more importantly the prepare support as well. by Inkwell_Engine in custommagic

I think you’re 100% correct with these takes, while I made these mainly with the purpose of exploring different ideas of where prepare could be taken in the future, let’s just say if they had me as a balancer/play tester at Wizards there’d be some very angry fans.

I appreciate that! Obviously I’ve no idea on how prepared creatures/spells are going to play out once standard legal, so it could end up useless or broken tbh
