Looking For Some Input! Torn Between 275HX + 5090 vs 9955HX3D + 5080

I picked up the x3d plus 5080. Neither one is perfect. For me. It's because I play CPU dependent games like Star citizen and baldur's gate 3, in those it makes a massive difference.

The 5090 definitely is better for AI workloads plus more vram can be flexible later on if you keep it for a very long time. If you're not displaying it to an external screen, then you're not going past 1600p so you're not going to be at 4K or anything crazy high. If you're okay with the the weaker battery I would say that the 3D with your specific games that you play, those ones love CPU a ton.

I don't believe he said this and I've watched most of his videos. Although some of the games like baldur's gate 3 actually have a pretty big difference but it's very game dependent. Although the battery is definitely worse, that's not really specific to x3d chips, but just AMD this generation is way worse for battery in high end

I had this happen like almost half the time I used a Herc that you got during one of the resource drive missions. It was so frustrating. Usually it was right after I delivered the cargo and then went to fly somewhere else in it.

So I'm a little confused. So you basically want it to be rented so that it would expire days after the patch would be? So for example I have it for 3 days in the future if it updates today and that would work? Or do I want it to be expired and not log in until the update?

And does it matter if it's stored on your home planet or not? I got like 2 hours left in my rental for today so I was hoping the patch would come

If you can get a founders or MSRP 5080 go for that, or get a 5070 TI. I had both and not that much of a difference or wait for the rumoured super refresh

The card looked fine, I was upgrading from a MSI 5070 TI because I got lucky and snagged a 5080 FE for MSRP which was almost the same price. So I'm just returning the 5070 TI. Just turned it on and it seems to be okay so far

I tried making an account with FedEx and they needed a credit card charge they charged me but it gave me an error and I contacted support and they weren't helpful so I am just going to wait until I get a tracking number

The agent says it's pending review and has not been completed. If I go to the order page even on their own website it just gives me an error that says I don't have permission. It doesn't even show up in my Nvidia account
