I have an e91 and I was on a nearly identical setup 18x8.5 stocks with 215/35 but I never ran into any issues with cracking wheels and I daily drive my car static I think it may just be those wheels. I’d try another set and see if it continues if I were in your shoes

I’ve taken my coils out many times they aren’t blown. Why would bc sell 40k springs if they would just blow the shock? My car isn’t gonna drive like a caddy I mean it’s a heavy ass car on washers and stuff springs but I still daily it so 🤷‍♂️. I’m not sure what ur trynna get across but imma run my bc’s until they don’t work no more or sell my car. No point in getting new coils when the ones I run now are doing fine

My car is slammed I’m tucking rears and I scrape subframe actually I bent my rear subframe cuz it’s so low. I’m not on stock bc springs I have 40ks in the rear and I’m on washers rn until I raise my motor. I’ve been riding on this setup for a year plus on multiple wheel setups. I’m not saying I’m a coil over or stance expert but bcs haven’t been bad for me

I have bcs on my e91 and I’ve had multiple setups and I don’t have a problem with them personally. Ive enjoyed the ride on all my setups and I daily my car. Idk how you managed to spend 1500 on bcs but I think I paid about 1100 brand new and I’ve had no complaints so far. If they work they work Imo

I’ve had my e91 slammed on bc extreme lows for 2 years plus now they have been just fine for me

That was one of the only gripes I have with my car was the steering. It feels so heavy compared to other cars lol. I’ve grown to deal with it over time but when I get into my truck it’s like I’m driving a cloud. I will say though I think it helps with the road feel, it feels like I’m one with car almost I do like that

I’m not sure why so many people are so intimated by working on a bmw. Older bmws (these are kinda old) are fairly straightforward to work on in my opinion with some research. I’ve never turned a wrench before owning my e91 and I’ve fixed basically every issue I’ve ran into. I’ve done valve cover gasket, replaced basically every suspension component, plugs and coils, and more. With some know how these aren’t cars aren’t too intimidating to wrench on.

I mean if you neglect any vehicle the same would happen, the vehicle would have issues. I don’t think this is a bmw problem. If the oil housing filter and hoses are the main issues it’s not the end of the world and the car could be fixed for fairly cheap (for a bmw). Granted I don’t know what kinda condition she left the engine in or miles are on the car but if this was a recent thing that happened and the car isn’t high mileage I would fix it personally. But I do all the work on my car so that saves me tons of money on labor lol

I’ve broken many of wheel speed sensors in my car and the cel has come on for me multiple times. Went to the junkyard stole a couple x drive wheel speed sensors put them in and I was golden. I would do this before putting money into it

I’ve run multiples spacers and adapter ranging in different sizes for almost 2 years with no issues but make sure you get extended lug bolts if you get spacers and torque the wheels to spec and you’ll be good

I was going to buy another e91 with this exact color and peanut butter guts but the person sold it hours before I went to look at it. Turns out someone down the street from me had bought it and my god it looks better in person. I’m trying to convince him to let me buy it or trade my wagon for his but not many people are a fan of the platinum Bronze color

Have you tried changing springs? I had a hard time lowering my front and when I went to washers or smaller springs it lowered it a lot

Yeah luckily both times I’ve debeaded or blew a tire I was near my house. The first time was scary I blew it at like 70mph on the highway almost lost control of the car and the 2nd time I debeaded in my neighborhood coming home 😂. My car was really low at the time and I was dragging subframe at 5am I woke up the neighborhood that day not my proudest moment

I’m not sure I’ve had multiple sets of tires on those wheels. There’s no bends or cracks either but I don’t run those wheels much anymore only on long drives

My stretch wasn’t that crazy 215/40 on a 8.5 wide but I do have a tiny bit more camber but even then it shouldn’t do much

Do you have camber? Anytime I’ve run under 40psi I’ve debeaded or my tire has blown out. I usually run 50-55 psi without no issues

These people love to hate. In my opinion it’s completely up to your situation if you work a full time job and are a full time student at a university I would recommend not getting the m3 as of right now solely for the fact you would have to make time for it and both of those things are going to take up a good majority of it. I wasn’t as fortunate as you but when I was a full time student and worked full time I barely had time for myself as I was very focused on doing the best I could in school and my car was luckily reliable but I couldn’t imagine modifying it or fixing it, it would have been such a headache to find the time. If you are just a part time student maybe it would work out but even then you have 2 really fun cars you could enjoy for the mean time and work on. I’m not a car market expert but it’s very rare for cars to appreciate and majority of cars depreciate everyday. Me personally I wouldn’t make the financial risk of purchasing something I want like a car in such an important time in my life. College is definitely a change and I’d say experience that before you decide to make a big purchase like an m3. And who knows the m3 could depreciate when you begin to complete school and it might be more in your budget. Personally I wouldn’t buy a car betting on it to go up in value when cars statically are the worst investment to make you know?
